Bears vs Packers for the superbowl...

I'd feel better about the Packers' chances if they were playing the game on a football field instead of the cow pasture the Bears play on. That will definitely favor the Bears' defense and running game.

Yep...even the Bears players were complaining about it on the news a couple weeks ago. Cutler himself called it one of the worst fields he has played on in the NFL.

Green Bay will have no problem playing in Chicago -- they are used to the cold and hard weather conditions. There really won't be a huge home field advantage for the bears -- weather or fan wise -- I know lots of GB fans in the burbs!!!

GO PACK GO!!!

There will be fan wise............it may not bother the Packers, but yes, the crowd will be one sided.

Packers are 7-1 at home, but only 3-5 on the road this season. Home field seems to be at least somewhat of a factor for them so far...

Go Packers! My DD has a swim meet that morning in Milwaukee and I'll be driving home like a mad woman to get back to Madison in time for kick-off. I just need to choose where to watch it ...

Didn't seem to make a difference in the last two games :rolleyes1.

That being said, Chicago will be a tough place for the Packers to play. The Bears have some very passionate fans :thumbsup2

But they lost their last 3 regular season home games...I'm hoping those Packers show up Sunday. :) Plus, this would be their 5th win in a row. They're overdue for a loss...they haven't won 5 in a row since...well, since they beat the Bears in week 14 of 2009 season. :(

Should be a great game...don't see how the Superbowl is going to top it, regardless of which team wins.

Um..where are you getting your information -- the Packers didn't lose their last 3 home games -- we BEAT the Giants & THE BEARS with our final two home games. Those are the Packers that are going to show up!!! :thumbsup2

Bears fan in SoCal. There is no way I can handle watching it. My favorite place to see the games would be fun. But except one exception all season, they have lost when i have gone. So for all Bears fans, I am taking one for all fans and staying away from there. I think it might be a good Disneyland day for me!

GO BEARS!

Oops...I meant that they lost their last three ROAD games. Losing their last three home games would be irrelevant in this case. :)

I thought only baseball fans had crazy superstitions like that? :) No sense taking any unnecessary risks though so go enjoy Disneyland for the day!!

I know I said this on an earlier thread but I am hoping for the Packers to pull a Giants like when they won the Super Bowl a couple years ago. They had to win all their games on the road (including knocking out the Packers...boo!). *crosses fingers*

Oh, and I don't care what the Bears' record is now or how good they've been playing, I still think they're overrated.

I'm a Bears fan living in New England. Sorry Patriot fans, I wanted to face you in the Super Bowl.

GO BEARS!

I'm a Pats fan married to a Bears fan. I so wanted us to win yesterday then meet the Bears at the Superbowl so I can finally get the hubby to shut up about 1986!!

And so the excuses begin....

:lmao::cheer2::cheer2:GO BEARS :cheer2::cheer2:

Not an excuse at all, just a fact. Here's a link to an article in which the Bears' own Jay Cutler calls the Soldier Field turf one of the worst in the NFL.

http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/12/cutler-soldier-field-turf-one-of-the-worst-in-nfl.html

Here's another one that describes how awful it was yesterday; the Bears players are the biggest complainers about it:

It's the same for both teams, but it's too bad that one of the biggest games of the year will be played on turf where the game may be decided by who can stay on their feet.

Anybody that knows anything about football knows that bad weather and field conditions favor a team with a better running game and a better defense. The Bears defense has contained the Packers well in both of their games this year and they should be able to do it again in cold weather and a sloppy field. That's why if I had to place money on the game I would be betting on the Bears.

Oh, and I don't care what the Bears' record is now or how good they've been playing, I still think they're overrated.

It has been the Bears' year. It all started with their incredibly lucky win over the Lions in the opener. Since then they have had virtually no injuries, played 2 games against teams starting 3rd string QB's, and got to play their first playoff game against a team that lost 9 games (all of them by 15 points or more). But, as they say, it's better to be lucky than good.

Do I have to? :)

I guess I could, but then the Bears home record improves to 6-3 which means they win twice as many home games as they've lost. Packers are even at 5-5.

I wouldn't put much stock in those last 3 road losses for the Pack. The first was by 3 points to the Falcons, and we saw how significant that was when they met again last Saturday. Aaron Rodgers missed much of the Lions game and all of the Patriots game (both 4 point losses) with the concussion. I will concede that if Matt Flynn has to play on Sunday the Packers are dead.

It may be relevant that the Packers shut out the Jets on the road, meaning that they have won 4 road games against playoff teams (Falcons, Jets, and Eagles twice) this year. Actually, I wish they were playing on A road this Sunday, because the conditions would be better than the Soldier Field turf. It's really too bad that the Chicago Park District can't afford a football field.

I'm hoping the reality "star" that is "in love" with Cutler jinxes him.

I'm a Bears fan married to a Colts fan, I feel your pain. The 2006 season/2007 Super Bowl is still thrown around a lot in this house and I take great pride in letting him know that my team has made it farther than his this year. :thumbsup2
