OK so I had a thread about Aaron Rodgers, to be fair and balanced, I thought I would start this one about Jay Cutler. :lmao: Why does it seem like everyone hates this guy? Is it because he comes across as aloof or arrogant in press conferences? Is it because he throws a lot of pics? :lmao: I'm not a Bears or Packers fan, so I don't have a dog in the fight, but was just curious about this. I was impressed with Jay's performance in the last game, he really took it to them and ran the ball in a tough fashion. I was very impressed with how tough he was.

Why do you think that everyone hates him?

:confused3

I guess "everyone" was a little too much. Obviously not "everyone" But they were talking about this on the NFL network.

Bears fans are fickle. They hate him when he throws 4 picks in a single game (twice). Right now they think he's pretty gutty and they are on his bandwagon.

Sitting here in Colorado, with the second-worst record in the NFL, I wish we had him (and all the other talent we ran off) back on the squad...

Or was it supposed to be weiner? :lmao: A whiner that's a winner?

Oh BTW, what is up with the feud that exists between him and Phillip Rivers?

This is personally why I "hate" him. I don't really hate him but greatly dislike him. I am a huge Philip Rivers fan and if Philip doesn't like, him....I don't like him. That is silly, I know. Cutler does come off very arrogant and seems to act like a big baby when things aren't going his way. In fact, I think Philip told him as much when he was playing for Denver.

I don't hate him. I don't love him either. He's a little aloof, but I don't really care. I feel nothing for him.

Chicago is not a quarterback town, really. Maybe it's because of our bad luck with them. I can't really think of a "franchise qb" we've had. We're a defensive team first and a running team second with some wicked special teams. As a Chicago fan, I feel more for Danieal Manning (who?) than Jay Cutler.

This one is serviceable enough. About as good as Good Rex and much better than Bad Rex. He'll do.

I would say "fickle" is a good word to describe how the fans feel about him. When he is on his game, he is GREAT! BUT, there have been some real stinkers in there also.

I did learn last week during the pre Seahawks game that he has Type 1 Diabetes. I guess it made me see him in a new light. I have a new found respect for him.

I hope we kick some Packer booty on Sunday!

Well, I hate Phillip Rivers, so I'm team Jay!

I think a lot of people get annoyed with Jay's body language during games and press conferences. I also think that people were annoyed with how Jay handled the Denver situation a couple of years ago.

Hear, hear!!!

As a 21+ year Denver Bronco Season Ticket holder, despite our horrendous record this year, there is no way that I nor most of the Denverites I know would want the Whining "Nothing is Ever My Fault" Diva back on the team. Cutler is a good quarterback, certainly not a great quarterback. Now that Elway is thinking for Bowlen, he will make sure we have a great quarterback in the future, whether it is Tebo or somebody else.

Glad to be rid of him.

Go Packers!
(Nothing against the Bears, but if Cutler is true to himself he will self-destruct and then blame it on everybody else.)

....I'm a Jets fan, but I haven't heard anything about this....is it prevalent or obvious in the Chicago area? :confused3 (Now Brady, on the other hand....)

As a Bears Fan, I have to say that I am on the fence with Cutler. While he's good...I don't think he's as good as HE thinks he is. And this is part of his problem. I totally think he's a whiner, totally think he's aloof, and doesn't handle the press and fans well at all. But is he a good quarterback? I would say more times than not, he is. It's just that you never know which Jay you're gonna get each week, and that's a big part of the fan's frustration.

I'm really nervous for tomorrow. If he plays a good game, doesn't get sacked, and makes his throws, and we still lose, we got beat fair and square. Obviously, our def and offense have to show up too, but Jay sets the tone for the game. I think a lot of Chicago fans opinions are "He may be a jerk...but he's OUR jerk." Gotta support the team. Go Bears!

From what I remember Philip Rivers called him a "punk".popcorn:: There were also several other players from around the NFL that agreed with Rivers. I do give Cutler credit for playing with Type 1 diabetes(he checks his blood sugar several times during games).
