Posting on this board hoping to get a quick answer - One year we stayed at Royal Pacific in July and the pool was one of those zero entry pools and it was crowded. The pool water was so warm that it was not very refreshing in the afternoons.
This year we are going back to Universal and I wonder if the pool at Portofino Bay is any deeper and the water any cooler. I think PB has three pools, but I am unfamiliar with this resort. Has anyone used the pools at both and can comment on if PB pools are any deeper/less crowded, etc. I need to make a resort decision soon. RPR is less expensive but in August I want a cool pool.

We've stayed at both RPR and PBH and the pools are very similar. Both are zero entry. The big differences are RPR has the interactive play area, and PBH has a slide. I was at PBH during a heat wave in May, and RPR in July and didn't notice either of them being too warm though. We loved the pools at both resorts - actually we loved everything about the Universal resorts and look forward to a return some day.
