OK, one more question... I haven't flown in almost 10 years, so I am a bit confuzzled with all this newfangeled electronic technology...

As I mentioned in another post, my final paperwork arrived in the mail today for my September trip. YAY!
I let Disney book my airfare. I have a confirmation number, and my flights are all listed correctly on my itinerary. However, I have no actual tickets, or even a voucher for tickets. Am I supposed to have something??

If not, how do I get on the plane?? Do I give the counter person at Delta's counter at the airport my conf # and they will print out tickets/passes for me??

With your ticket number you can check in online 24hours prior to your flight and print your boarding pass, or you can do it at the airport check in counter, just leave enough time at the airport if you go that route.

You have an electronic ticket. All you really need to give the Delta employee at the check in counter is a government issued photo ID and your destination. He/She will print you a boarding pass and take your luggage and give you a baggage claim ticket (if you have any luggage to check).

Bring your itinerary and confirmation along just in case, but you really won't need it.

If you choose to use the skycap service, the skycap will do the same thing as the Delta counter employee, but the skycaps do expect to be tipped.

You need a boarding pass to get on the plane (and also to get through security), and there are 2 ways to get it:

1. Go to the airline counter at the airport and give them your photo ID and the city you're flying to, they'll look up the info from that, and print your boarding pass(es)/check your luggage.

2. Starting 24 hours before your flight, you can log in on Delta.com with your name and conf. # (click the itineraries & check-in tab on the left side of the page) and you will go through a short process that ends up with you printing the boarding pass(es) on your printer. Take it/them to the airport with you. If you have no luggage (unlikely if you're going to WDW, I suppose), then you'd just pass through security and head for your gate. Otherwise, you'll still need to go to the counter anyway to check your luggage.

I'm guessing you are staying at a Disney hotel. So on your departure day when you need to get boarding passes and check luggage for your trip home, there is a 3rd option which is probably the best of all - go to the Resort Airline Checkin (RAC) desk at your hotel between 5 am and 1 pm (and no more than 12/no less than 3 hours before your flight) and you can get your boarding passes AND check your luggage. Disney will transport your luggage to the airport and get it on the plane.

...to use one of the self serve kiosks. Depending on the airport, most carriers would now rather you do the self serve thing than actually have an agent (gasp) help you. One airline (can't remember which) out of Canada had ONLY self serves - no agents you talked to except those helping you figure out how the self serve works. In most cases, though, this is actually faster 'cause many people are intimidated by the self serves. Anyway - if you choose to use one, you just roll up and throw in any ol' credit card that's in the same name as a member of the party (I've always used the same one which I used to make the ressie). Then you type in some info, badda boom badda bing, out pops a boarding pass. Then they do usually have someone there to take your bags (assuming you didn't do curb side) and put on the baggage tags.
