<font color=green>Day 3....December 5th....Savannah’s Sick

Tuesday...We all woke up around 10 this morning and I was busy thinking about the DIS meet that was at 2 today! I was really looking forward to meeting Wheelsie and Dan! Anyways, Savannah woke up crabby, which is another unusual thing that I should have caught right off, but again, we just figured it was time catching up with her and because she didn’t sleep the night before very good, we thought she was tired...So, we decided to go to Magic Kingdom today and got ready and left...Savannah was okay, not as happy as she usually is, but not cranky anymore either...We got to Magic Kingdom and decided to go to Buzz Lightyear first...Andrew was in awe!! When we passed the huge Buzz right before you get in the cart, Andrew just starred at it...I don’t think he really knew where he was until that very moment! He loved the ride...we got off and he wanted to go again, so I took him on again...after that, he said he wanted to go on something different! lol! So, my parents took the little ones and John, Jolene, Holly, Laura and myself went on Alien Encounter and Space Mountain....Then we took Andrew and Savannah on the Tea Cups, Carousel, It’s A Small World, Winnie The Pooh and Snow White...We also went to Mickey’s Toon Town Fair and they played for a little bit there...After that, we went to Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain...we decided to eat at Peco’s Bills, because that is my favorite counter service at MK!! I had the Chicken Salad, which is what I always order because I love it so much and John and the girls had Cheeseburgers and Fries, which they could live off of! lol...Andrew had some of my chicken and Savannah didn’t want anything and was getting really quiet and very hot! Around this time it was close to noon and Savannah was starting to burn right up...It was kind of chilly out that day and I was getting a little bit nervous that she might be coming down with something, so I decided to take her back to the room for her nap...She started to cry right then and didn’t let up...I kind of knew at that point that something was very wrong since Savannah doesn’t cry hardly ever! John agreed and in the end we all decided to go back to the room...when we got there, Savannah started throwing up all over the place and since she hadn’t ate anything all morning, I decided not to fool around anymore...I asked my dad where the nearest hospital was and he brought me and Savannah to Celebration Hospital...Savannah was really burning up now and had stopped crying...she was just kind of whimpering...When we got to the ER, they took us right in and took her temperature which was 103.9...I nearly cried right then...poor thing...I felt awful...so they gave her a Tylenol suppository and brought us to a different room...they came back in 1/2 hour later and took her temp again which was now 102.8...After that the Doctor came in and looked at her and said she had an ear infection, gave her a dose of Motrin and said that she would be back in a 1/2 hour to check her temp again...I was relieved at that point because Savannah wasn’t so hot anymore and she seemed to be more alert to things now...When the doctor came back, she took her temp and it had gone down to 101.6...The Doctor gave her a perscription for Antibiotics and Ear drops and said to give her Motrin every six hours...which I did...I have to make a side note here and say that Celebration hospital is such an efficient hospital and everyone was very nice and helpful for us...They tended to us very fast and I was so pleased to have had such great service! By the time I got back to the room, Savannah was sleeping and I was exhausted...John was relieved that Savannah was okay and we decided to just order in food tonight and got some Pizza from the Food Court at OPR...The girls went swimming with Andrew and John, Savannah and I just slept and ate...we were tired!! :)

I'm glad Savannah didn't have anything serious. I hope the medicine starts to work fast.

Thanks for sharing your trip with us, Tricia. :)

Poor Baby! How sad to be sick on vacation. Glad to hear that it was only an ear infection. They generally clear up pretty quickly and the antibiotics make the little ones feel better in no time.

Hope she is bouncing back soon. It's my biggest fear that dd or I will get sick while we are on vacation. Thanks for posting!
