Beacuse I don't want kids, that's why! *pardon my rant..*

A lot of people are choosing not to have children because it isn't so weird anymore. My ex's sister didn't have kids, she once told me why, I don't remember, but she enjoys so much freedom. My girls see her and they see me and they want to be more like her. Tall, thin, scuba diving off the coast of Bali. I don't blame them, I want to be like her.

They just know it is a choice, and not expected like when I grew up. It is a choice for so many people, and for so many it's just how things happen. We don't have to populate the earth anymore, it's quite full enough.

I applaud you for knowing where you are in your life at this time and making a conscious decision instead of just having a child that you're not ready for and may never be ready for.

I think more people need to give serious consideration about the responsibilites of being a parent instead of how cute a baby is. I love all my children dearly and wouldn't give any of them up for any reason, but I must admit there have been a few things that haven't been easy.

As a parent, I may wonder why one of my married children didn't have any children but I don't think I would ask. That's between the husband and wife. I know my husband and I were married for 5 years before we had our first child and neither my parents nor his asked us "when".

"so, why do you ask?"

I have kids and grandkids. we have been to disneyworld 2 times with kids and 12 times, just the 2 of us. (grandkids aren't old enough)

It really irks me on these boards when people repeat the untrue mantra: "disney is for kids"

I agree.

Disney is for anyone who wants to spend their money on Disney.
There might just be kids tagging along.

we can stake out a spot for illuminations an hour ahead of time, and have people come up 2 minutes before the show and tell us "can you move aside? this is really just for the kids"

we Do let little kids in front of us, but.. not the parents.....

Well, you're nicer than I am. When people try to "squeeze" their children in at the last minute I firmly let them know that I've been here for 1 1/2 hours and while I'm sorry they didn't plan their day, I planned mine and they need to "squeeze" their kids in somewhere else!

Last time we were there my son was 10 and the "squeezie people" as I call them made some remark about how the places up front are for little kids. I asked how old their oldest was and he was 12. I told them that you can't judge age by size and that since my son was only 10, he was sitting exactly where he should by their logic!

My DS is now 11 and stand approximately 5'7 1/2" tall and looks much older because people tend to judge age by size. His best friend, who's nearly a year older than he is stands at about 4' 10" -- it was really funny when we took him to Disney with us. My DS was on the "adult" plan (he was 10) at the time, and he was always given the "adult" menu. His friend was always offered a child's menu even though he was nearly 11!

Sorry, but if someone asks me if they can "squeeze" their child in...my answer is generally no, plan ahead! Though sometimes, if they ask very nicely instead of shoving their kid at me, I'll make an exception!
