Never driven to WDW from Ohio before. 4 drivers: me, husband, friend & her husband, plus 3 kids (7,7,12) all in one minivan. From reading these boards, I'm thinking we could do the drive to Disney in one day (approx 15 hrs) if we drive at night in shifts.

I suspect we'll be exhausted when it's time to drive home to Ohio, after a week at WDW! Last day plan: spend time at Epcot, eat one last dinner at Disney, then hop in the car & drive 2-4 hrs to beach camping. Our kids have never seen the ocean. One night tent camping would be a blast. (I may eat those words later...)

Anyone done that? Good beach camping near I-95 north of Orlando? Our main point in doing this is a somewhat decent night's sleep & our kids having the chance to see the ocean.

We have stopped in Daytona to see the ocean on our way home to Ohio but not camped. Then we drove up A1A for awhile before getting back on the highway.

Tybee Island (just outside of Savannah) has a great campground (River's End). We stayed there for three weeks last summer and loved it! (It's about two blocks from the beach, but close enough!)
