Beaches

Need to get my mind off all the snow here in NYC.
Who has better beaches East(North/South) or West coast?
Are there any beaches as big as Jones Beach on the West Coast?

Is the water warmer on the East or West Coast? I take it that it is all warmer than up here, anytime of the year.

IMHO the nicest beaches are on the East Coast, the Cape Cod National Seashore and the west coast keys of Florida (Siesta, Long Boat, etc.) I consider myself a beach expert and travel often to find the next "best beach" My all-time favorite beaches are in St. John and Playa Del Carmen. I have seen nearly all the coastline of the USA, most of the Caribbean Islands, and all the HI Islands as well and still think the CCNS and west coast FL have the best

Define what you think is "nice". I know a lot of people don't like the east coast beaches because they are sand vs the soft powder you find in the Cancun area, etc.

The Atlantic is warmer then the Pacific.

all the way up the coast or Florida Atlantic. The water is ussually preety cold in NYC At least I figured colder than West coach beaches.

So is there another beach the size of Jones Beach or are the Beaches on the West Coast smaller?
