I'm responding to an e-mail that I heard on the June 19th show about which beach to visit. We have visited WDW 3 times since 2003 and coming again this August from northern California. Each year we stay between 10 to 18 days, with a little 3 to 5 day break in the middle to visit a beach. We have visited Clearwate which is nice, but our favorite is Long Boat Key/Lido Beach area. It's a 2 hour drive to the gulf coast, the sunsets are beautiful, the white sandy beaches are beautiful and the is a small town (St. Armands Circle ) which is great for dining/shopping/spa.

Hi, that was my email. We are looking at all the suggestions..I'm looking forward to relaxing on the sand, the sound of the waves in the background. I'm almost thinking of taking 2 days at the end of our trip and getting a hotel on the coast. We really like to just relax though and packing and moving for 2 days might not be worth it.

Check out the Lido Beach Resort.

Its ON the beach, great view, reasonable price, CLEAN, and minutes from St. Armands Circle, and Sarasota. 2 hour drive from orlando. We will be staying there again in August.

Looking for info - when we were in FL 2 weeks ago we just went to Cocoa but I would love to find the beaches they were talking about that don't have waves! It would be as close as I could get to Castaway Cay without actually cruising!
