I'm planning ahead for summer vacation and have been wanting to try the Beaches Resort in Turks and Caicos for a long time.

Does anyone familiar with this resort have any tips for getting the best deal? The website is not very user friendly, when trying to price a room, you have to choose a room first, not knowing the cost and if it fits your family - I find the site very tedious to use. Also, whenever I try to price it for my family, even with promotional rates it is coming out to $12,000 for a week!!!!!!!!! We have gone to Club Med for 1/4 that cost - so I know there has to be something wrong there....anyone have any tips?

I have also been dying to try this resort. But, every time I price out a trip, it is always around $10,000 for our family of 4. Also the airfare is around $3,000. The website has been easy for me to use and I have not had to pick a room first. I put in my dates, guests and then it brings up all the different rooms with prices and descriptions. The sometimes have deals like pay for 4 nights get a certain percentage off. the home page of the site usually has the promos listed. I am curious to see if anyone has any advice because I would love to know any hints or secrets on how to get a good deal here! The resort and island look so beautiful!

I just checked their site and if you want to go in Aug. 2011 it is 40% off!

I tried to price it out for my family a few years ago, and found the website cumbersome, confusing and downright annoying to use. I think they really just would rather have you use a travel agent, and thats why they make it so annoying.

Anyway, I tried to figure it out because DH thought it might be a fun vacation for us, and everytime I tried, it came up to like $8000 or more for our family of 4!:scared1::scared1::scared1: I finally said to my DH, we could go super-deluxe to Disney for twice as long for that price! Forget it!. And we didn't go.

Maybe someday!

I too have been yearning to go there but the airfare is a beast. Tickets price out at around $850 per person! Even if we can stomach the all-inclusive prices--with 40-60% off on their website--the airfare is crazy. For our family of 4, it usually prices out to $6-8000 + airfare. Would love to know if there is a cheaper way to get there. The higher cost seems to be the flight from Florida to Providenciales(sp?). Ugh....

We have been with the kids twice and being there is twice a good as the pictures look. Turks and Caicos is truely a beautiful place.

We found a deal last year for the week after Thanksgiving for something like $3900.00 not including airfare for our family of four. We didn't go for the 3rd visit because I was voted down by DH and the kids. They picked Disney.

For a family of four just go with the cheapest room and hope for an upgrade. We have had an upgrade everytime we have been there. If your family consists of 5 or more the price jumps significantly.

You just have to key in certain dates and play around with the discounts. Sometimes you will luck out . But just like Disney Beaches increases their prices when kids are on break or during the summer, so plan accordingly. Sometimes August may be discounted because it is the start of hurricane season.

Also Turks and Caicos is not that far off the Bahamas , so it may be chilly there in the deep winter months.

It's a friendly laid back island...what about doing a condo at the Sands or something? You can cook some meals and eat out some meals....

They run cash in the kids special where you can upgrade from 1 bedroom to 2 bedroom free [sleep up to 6]....and like right now they have 25% and you can stack the coupons...

Hubby and I went and stayed at Ocean Club West in 05 or 06...at that time the beach at beaches was very narrow compared to OCW and the Sands....

That said...I have a hard time justifying a $$$ trip when you can go to the gulf coast of Florida [Anna Maria Island] for a LOT less....plus you can do what we did...1 week DISNEY followed by 1 week BEACH [Anna Maria]

I paid close to $10,000 for our (then) family of 4 in a one bedroom suite, for a week during spring break (my sister got married there). That included airfare. It's not a cheap vacation.

I would do non all inclusive as well to save money!

But non-allinclusives are not Beaches. That is the draw to this place. The marketing, the activities, the luxury of someone waiting
on you hand and foot. And believe me they certainly do.

Yea, you can definetly do Turks and Caicos a ton cheaper than staying at Beaches. Luxury vacations do not come cheap.

They have good specials in September and October not school vacation times. We went for $799pp for a week all-inclusive (including air) in October once to Beaches Turks and Caicos.

Try Cheapcaribbean.com for good last minute deals. A friend just paid $38/night for an all inclusive on the Dominican Republic.

They have some great deals on their "deals" tab. Nothing for Beaches though.

Theres deals to be had, just compared to what.......

Thats my dream family vacation and i just looked and for 10 days from Western Canada for the 5 of us the beginning of November is $10,000 in a family suite including airfare........not the cheapest but sure beats their regular rates. I want to go here so bad i have a special beaches vacation fund along with my regular vacation fund :lmao: Maybe by the time i can afford it some of my kids will be gone and then i could stay even longer :rotfl2:

For now we will keep with Mexico as its cheap for 10 days and the kids love it. Would love to go to other all inclusives but not many have family suites with bunks and a 3rd bed along with the standard queen or king bed and due to my kids ages/sex they cant share beds...........so our options are limited.

Sandals and Beaches resorts don't associate with travel brokers. A travel agent might throw in a spa certificate or a free excursion but pretty much whats on their website is what you get.

Kind of like the Disney cruises.

Hi,
I have not been to Beaches T&C, but I have been to Sandals and Beaches resorts in Jamacia...

I was not happy with the Beaches Chain. We spent a lot of money (11k) for our family of 5 and it was the biggest waste of money ever. I spoke with a lot of other families who felt the exact same way - because the resort we were at (NEGRIL) was run down, old, and they didn't even feel the need to comply with our serious handicap request.
It.
Was.
Awful.
My husband and I had a good time at Sandals, and that was why I was shocked at how crappy beaches resort was.
Never again. I heard a lot of people say good things about RIU resorts. We also have stayed at some places in Mexico that we really liked - Barcelo resorts. No it wasn't like Sandals but I was much happier (and it was much cheaper) than Beaches.

Can anyone recommend a resort in Belize? Sorry - don't mean to hi-jack - this thread seems to have attracted some experience travelers. ;)

Not sure how long ago you were at Beaches Negril , but both resorts have recently had multi million dollar make-overs. We have visited both Beaches Negril and Beaches Turks and Caicos which BTW are pretty similar in price, and truthfully there is no comparison. Turks and Caicos is amazing.

DH and I love Sandals Negril but like you have no desire for Beaches Negril, for the price I would go back to Beaches Turks and Caicos over Negril in a heartbeat.

Always wanted to try Beaches, but we are a family of five and it is just not worth that amount of money to me. We could literally do three week long cruises for the price of one week at Beaches. Plus, we can get two cabins with two bathrooms and not be crammed into one hotel room.

As an example, we are doing a nine night Thanksgiving cruise on Royal Caribbean for $3500. Beaches would be over $12,000!

Maybe someday.....

In defense of Beaches and Sandals, we've been to Beaches in T & C, and Sandals in St. Lucia, and both were amazing, and not run down in the least. Yes, they cost more than Negril, but there was nothing to complain about.
