Beaches & Cream

I am thinking about doing an "ice cream for dinner" night and I think Beaches & Cream would be perfect for that. We did that when we went to Disneyland 4 years ago and my daughter still talks about it.

We are staying at BLT. We just rented points and changed our plans from AoA, so now I am rethinking some of our dining plans. Would it be best to do B&C on a night we are at Epcot or HS?

If we do it on an Epcot night, what would be a good reservation time to make sure we make it back for Illuminations?

If we do it at HS, what would be a good reservation time to make sure we make it back for Star Wars Fireworks (hoping they are going to have them)?

It's closer to Epcot, so I would do it that night. I'm pretty sure this ADR goes pretty quickly since the seating is so limited. However, I think there's a walk up counter service that you could use. I would grab ice cream an hour before illuminations then walk back into Epcot with it and grab a spot on the bridge just after entering through the IG for the fireworks.

We frequent Beaches and Cream as we usually stay at the BC and it's right there. We like to eat at B&C on our HS day. We find the food options lacking at HS. For us, there are too many great food options at Epcot to leave and eat elsewhere. B&C is a nice walk and/or boat ride from HS.

If you don't already know, Beaches and Cream is a very small restaurant so you should book your ADR as early as possible to get the time that you want. Have a great trip.

Are you interested in sitting down and having sundaes or the kitchen sink? Or are you just getting ice cream cones?

If you want to sit and have sundaes from the menu, I would probably make a reservation about 2 hours before Illuminations (it's a quick walk back and forth to EP) or 2 1/2 hours before Star Wars (longer walk or boat ride from DHS).

If you are only interested in ice cream cones, I would recommend simply going to the ice cream shop in the France pavilion. The ice cream is much better there than at B&C (B&C just uses Edy's) or you could walk to the Boardwalk and go to Ample Hills which is arguably the best ice cream at WDW (they have AMAZING sundaes, too). You don't need an ADR for either of these places.

You could also do a walk-up at The Fountain at the Dolphin. Great ice cream and sundaes in a fun atmosphere.

IMHO, unless there is a specific sundae on the B&C menu you really want, you will find better ice cream at the other venues.

Some of the sundaes look really good but my heart is not set on them. My dad is really into cars so we are planning on Sci-Fi, but I may switch ADRs around. I'm glad there are ice cream places all over. Maybe I will just play "ice cream for dinner" by ear and see which night it fits best. I try to stay away from ADRs other than breakfast because I am just not sure how my youngest (turns 2 the week after our trip) will be.
