Are reservations required? We are staying at beach club for the first time coming up real soon, and we read the top 10 "bucket list" places to eat at Disney and Beaches and Cream was on it and peaked our interest, but didn't know if you could walk up or need a reservation. This close to our trip, if a reservation is required, then I'm probably SOL

You can still walk up, but now that they take ADRs (that is relatively new), waits might be really long. I haven't tried it yet since they started ADRs. They have a take out window for ice cream. Also, you might have better luck with a walk up if you are willing to sit at the counter.

Going at an off time always helps (e.g., don't try to go after Illuminations).

I'm not sure if it's still the case, but when they first started taking reservations, reports here on DIS were that walk-ups were seated at the counter and reservations got tables. If you're able to pin down a time for a reservation, I'd recommend it.

We had an ADR last month when we ate at B&C. We still had a short wait. While we were dining another guest came in and pitched a fit that they could not seat him and his party since he didn't have an ADR. They might have offered the counter, but he had a pretty good sized group. I'd get the ADR if you want to order off the menu.

But even so, I was a bit disappointed in my meal. And they made my chocolate shake with chocolate ice cream after I asked for it to be made with vanilla and chocolate syrup (it tasted bitter and I asked for a Black and White). The hamburgers were not that good either. We'll try somewhere else next time. We hadn't been there in a long time before our trip last month.

Stayed at BC a couple of times - tried B&C twice:

Burgers are better at the Crews Cup Lounge in YC

Ice Cream just as good at Seashore Sweets across at BWI, but without the wait. (Unless you REALLY want that kitchen sink!)

We did this in May. Walked up as there were no reservations available. Waited about 10 minutes. There are tables outside to wait at until our time became available.

We had a reservation and waiting 45 minutes...and we came 15 minutes early and they wouldn't let us check in, told us to come back. :(

I agree with the PP that the burgers weren't quite as good as they were. Plus, the fries are now the "standard" Disney fries and not as good as before. Thankfully, the No Way Jose hasn't changed!

When we were there in early June (with an ADR) we saw MANY people being told that they could go to Hurricane Hannah's. I couldn't ever hear if they were actually turning them away or just saying the wait would be long. On our spring trip, we were told, not so nicely, that without a reservation wouldn't be seated "until at least 9pm" (this was around 5pm) even though it wasn't terribly busy either inside or out.

I was always fond of B & C but don't know that I'll necessarily making it a point to come back any time soon.

ADR is definitely a good idea. We were able to walk-up over Easter but it was late and still had a 20-30 minute wait (at minimum). Also we lucked out because as others approached they were told that they were not taking any more walk-ups. For me an alternative is casual dinner at pool with burgers etc. and ice cream at beaches and Cream to go counter.

Good Luck!

There are not many tables inside Beaches n Cream, which is why an ADR is recommended - maybe 3 booths and 6 tables. There were maybe 6 or 7 seats at the counter. The food is decent and cheaper compared to other Disney prices. I think they had a pastrami sandwich.

Just curious where you saw this bucket list. I would be interested in checking it out myself.

It was an article my wife emailed me.I'll see if I can finds it and post it. It had Victoria and Alberts as #1. Took her there last year for our 10 year anniversary. Made the TiW card purchase worth it.

We went first week of April and had an ADR at 4pm our arrival day. We back for a late lunch on two different days later in the week and were told there were no reservations available on either day and we could not walk in any time the rest of those days either.

I think the hamburgers used to be better... and my favorite, a beef sandwich was taken off the menu...

also kids meal used to have 2 hamburgers.. not only one, I think.

I've always thought that they should take over the space of Ariel's to use for more seating. It seems like that is never used.

I'm told it is used for conventions and for weddings, but I've never seen it in the past 10 years I've been coming...

We saw an event in there on our last trip. You're right, though, that's only one time we've seen it used in many, many visits.

So sad to hear it is changing, definitely one of our favorite places. Having older teens we usually go late and it's not been a problem waiting 30-45 minutes before seating. If you have a crowd, you have to try the kitchen sink at least once!
