HI, my 3 sisters and i are thinking of trying the Kitchen Sink and were hoping to go after Illuminations. I know you can walk there through the International Gateway, but will that gate still be open ( after the show) and will Beaches and Cream still be open that late? ( we're going the end of September). i'm not sure where to find the hours.
TIA princess::bride::hippie::cutie:

It will be open -- but it will be crowded because lots of others also go there after Illuminations, and it is rather small.

Also, not sure where you are headed after, but you usually cannot go back through Epcot once it is closed -- which means you canot get to the monorail or parking lot. You can, of course, bus to DTD, or cab elsewhere.

Yes depending on the crowds you could be waiting an hour or more depending on if you are in the front of the pack or not.

I was making small talk with the hostess there and I think she said the longest wait she aver told anyone was 3 hours. Also before anyone asks they do not take ADR's.

And yes the park closes at 9:00 no one will be allowed in after that time. If you parked in the Epcot lot I can't come up with any transportation plan, other than a cab, that doesn't involve at least three transfers (that's assuming that the monorails are still running).

It's very small. They have only three large booths and about seven or eight tables that fit 4 but are pushed together for larger parties (besides the counter, but I am guessing that if you are getting a Kitchen Sink you do not want to sit at the counter). After Illuminations is one of the times that it gets really busy, so expect a wait.

If you are parked in the Epcot lot you will likely have to go retrieve your car and drive it to Beach Club.

I've been warned that if you don't hit B&C right at 11am when they open, then expect a wait. Due to the fact it's so small, walking distance of Epcot, and right next to the pool, it's always full. I would expect there to be quite a wait after Illuminations, so maybe you can slip out a little early or skip Illuminations all together in hopes that most people will be watching that rather than waiting at B&C. We got our ice cream at the to go counter, but I don't know if thats an option for the kitchen sink.

It's not. Carryout is not an option for any food or specialty sundaes.

First week in may we waited about 20 to 30 minutes for a table at around 1:00 to 1:30. Boardwalk was pretty dead not a lot of people in Storm along Bay. the place stayed packed all during our meal.

Obviously you won't know the wait until you get there and I would agree that after Illuminations chances are there will be a longer wait for a table. However if you go earlier you might have a better chance of getting seated a lot faster. The second time my family and I went there in December 2010 was at 8:30 PM and we got a table right away without having to wait for one. So there are a few times when something like that might happen.

It is very popular and very very busy after Illuminations.I have seen waits anywhere from 45 mins to well over an hour. They have a TO GO area, but no food or specialty sundaes are served there.Just ice cream bars and drinks

well, we won't have our own car, we are staying on site so we're using WDW buses. It is one of my sisters' first visit so idk if we would/could/ should leave Illuminations early for her sake. I would skip it all together but i've seen it a million times lol.
I guess the only way to get back to the POP would be to bus to DTD then catch the POP bus? I'm thinking they would be done bussing from Epcot by the time we got done at B & C. I'll give my sisters all the information you all shared ( thank you btw ) and see what they want to do.
I appreciate it all very much.

If it is her first time, I would let her enjoy the whole show.

You can take a taxi from the Beach Club to Pop. It's a lot quicker than taking the bus to DTD and transferring. Or, if it's a night when DHS is having EMH you could walk/take the boat there and catch a bus to your resort.

ok thanks! idt we wld want to or be able to pay extra for a taxi. ill check the EMH for our EPCOT day. great idea!

A taxi would maybe cost 10 bucks from Beach Club to Pop Century, if even that, since they are relatively close. It might be worth your time to pay the 10 bucks rather than spending an hour traveling from Beach Club to Downtown Disney back to Pop Century.

I've never used a taxi* in my life. i have no idea how much they cost. LOL

*well other than the one from the Amtrak station to our resort and that's $100 round trip.

Also, it turns out to be EPCOT EMEH that night.

That may work in your favor since not everyone will leave after illuminations
