 I'm kinda confused about something I read in the Birnbaums 2006 book about Beaches & Cream. It said that it was replaced with the Marketplace. Now I know the new Marketplace opened last year, in the store. I've been there more than once and it's awesome. I've also been to B&C several times too. It's my favorite place for ice cream. We were in WDW at Christmas but didn't have time to get to B&C, very short 2 day trip with parents.

So, does anyone know if the Marketplace moved out of the store and into Beaches and Cream or does the Birnbaum have a mistake?? A very big mistake I hope!

Thank you for your assistance and prevailing good advice, as always!

I don't know about the Marketplace but I ate at Beaches and Cream a couple days ago and it was the same as always: counter service take-out for ice cream treats, the small sit-down restaurant portion. Don't know what's up with Birnbaums...

WOW!! BIG MISTAKE!! The Marketplace is in the gift shop of the BC, while B&C is still outside by the pool area. I know I just had the Kitchen sink last month!!!!

 Thank you, thank you!!! I'm so relieved! I knew someone would have been there just recently. Yea! Now I can take my brother and his family there when they come with us in May! :goodvibes

I'm not happy about that mistake though. Totally bummed me out. I mailed that book to my niece and nephew this morning for the May trip so I'll have to go to the Disney Store tomorrow and check it out again. I do know it said it though since I showed my son too. He wasn't happy about it either. But you know what? He said to ask you all on the DIS!! Smart boy.

Thanks again! :grouphug:

B&C Will be there forever. Cann't take the KITCHEN SINK away.

B&C is still there :goodvibes . Where does it say it was replaced? I missed that.

I think that the confusion has to do with the fact that several years ago (2000-2003 or so), before the BC gift shop was transformed into the Marketplace with ready food offerings, B&C used to have a continental breakfast-style menu in the morning. They sold milk cartons, juice in bottles, doughnuts, fruit, coffee and such. No hot food though. Most people would buy stuff there and take it up to their room- I know that's what we did.
