DH and I never been to Beaches & Cream before. Is it worth leaving Epcot and going for a lunch (like a hamburger or hotdog) and getting their ice cream and then head back to Epcot?

I've tried to eat at Beaches and Cream at least 3 times now. Not once have I been able to. I've tried getting there at all sorts of times...it's always crowded.
The last time I tried, I gave up and we got just ice cream cones. That alone took 25 mins to get to the front of the line...and it was 2:30!!!!
I'll probably keep trying but there just doesn't seem to be a good time to go there and not have a huge wait to be seated. It's not that big, so seating isn't huge.

If you can't get a table at B&C or don't want to wait for one, and you don't mind paying OOP, consider walking oven to the Dolphin. In the Dolphin is a restaurant called "The Fountain" . Its a quick walk (or boat ride) from B&C.

Lots of good eateries over at S/D sit empty while so-so WDW owned places are packed. I would definately consider taking the boat to the S/D on my DHS day. I'm not crazy about any of the DHS restaurants.

The menu is similar to B&C, great burgers, and great Ice Cream. They even have their own answer to the Kitchen Sink. Its called the Funnel.

I love that they have soft serve ice Cream in addition to hand scooped!:thumbsup2

They also give a 20% discount to AAA and DVC members!

The food was Diner fare, burgers, dogs, onion rings, salads, flat breads, and sandwiches. Kids liked their viewfinder menu:

This Picture doesn't do this hot dog justice. It was huge. Oh, and its boring like that because I'm boring. I could have had my choice of toppings, chili, cheese, onions, relish, whatever I wanted. I wanted it boring.

as was DH's Burger it had to be at least 1/2 a pound:

Now on this particular night we were boring and pretty much just got Ice Cream. (They have Soft Serve as well as hand scooped)

This was ONE SCOOP!

On another night we got Ice Cream Floats. You could get any flavor ice cream you wanted with any flavor soda. (They had Stewart's bottled Sodas in a few flavors.) The floats themselves were in very tall glasses, and the extra soda was brought to the table in the bottle.

Something I couldn't get myself to order were the "Beer Floats" Ice Cream and Guinness Stout:scared:

I saw lots of large brownie sundaes being enjoyed. They also had a "make your own sundae" where you chose the ice cream, the sauce and the toppings.

we love B&C imo it so much better than any CS you are going to get. True it is crowded but I think the trick is to try off hours like eat lunch at 11:30am or 2:00pm if you do not mind. If you can not get a table I like the suggestion above for the fountain. I have never tried it but it looks good!

Yea we would eat lunch around 11:30am. So we would have enough time to digest our food by 6pm for dinner. We dont mind waiting. If we have to wait, we'll wait. Its not that big of a deal. Your in Disney. Its nothing but waiting down there.

Beaches and Cream is crowded most of the time. If you are willing to sit at the counter you will have less of a wait. It is interesting sitting there as that seat provides a look at the making of all the food. It is amazing how small an area the cook and the servers have to work in. During lunch because of the SAB and after Illuminations it is really busy! We love it and eat there many times throughout our stay at BCV. The servers, Brian and Maria, are wonderful. There are a few more regular servers that are nice also. Can't wait to go back!

Ok what is SAB mean?

Yes it can be difficult to get in at certain times of the day but we make sure to go at least once during our stay.Never had any complaints with the food or the ice cream.Have been known to order the kitchen sink...:scared1: The girls get a kick out of it.:rotfl:

SAB...."Stormalong Bay".....its the pool at the BC

I just ate there last weekend. I think I only got in because I'm one person and they could seat me at the counter.

After a cheeseburger I couldn't eat a No Way Jose so I did the improvising thing with a 2 scoop chocolate/vanilla sundae and peanut butter topping. Should have just skipped the cheeseburger. Not that it wasn't a decent cheeseburger but I would have rather had the No Way Jose.

The dining room is extremely small - there are three booths and I think about five or six tables, plus the counter seating, and that is it.

When we went we got the same frozen burgers you can get anywhere else on property and grocery store ice cream. Onion rings were good, but not worth the 20 minute wait at 3:30 in the afternoon, followed by another 20 minutes before we saw a glass of water or a waitress.

I felt the same way. After all of the hype, I was really disappointed. The onion rings and ice cream was good.

Yes, B&C is worth leaving Epcot for. We have a burger there on every trip. Sometimes we have to wait a little while but it is well worth it.

I also felt the same way. I wasn't really disappointed, but I do not think it is anything special and would not go out of my way to eat there.

It is definately worth it, but you must eat before 11:30AM or after 3PM. It is extremely small, but the food is excellent. I recommend the Cheseburger or Philly Stake Sandwhich. You can't leave without some kind of ice cream. The milkshakes are great, and the Kitchen Sink is better. They just installed siren lights for when someone orders one. We always ask if Disney is going to take out some of the arcade and expand the restaurant, but the waitresses always say that Disney won't do it. The waitstaff is very attentive and are seasoned pros (pretty much the same every year)

How late is it open after Illuminations?

You seriously want to avoid this place like the plague after illuminations gets out.You and about 5000 other people want to go over for a late dinner or ice cream. The last time i walked past after illuminations, the podium cm said the wait was 90 mins!

we went in SEPT two years ago We got there about 1130 and walked right in with no wait and it was great. we split a double cheeseburger and a no way jose, it is stop we will make each trip we are giong back again this Sept

mrzrich, thanks for the info on the Fountain! And as for the Guinness Float, I may just give that a try. I had Guinness Stout Ice Cream years ago in Brooklyn (it's a favorite in the Caribbean community there, believe it or not) and it was delicious!
