Is beaches and cream very very good ice cream? Is it something I should do, or just get the regular ice cream at all star movies food court? I want to know if its worth the bus ride, or should I just get it from all star movies? Please help me?

The ice cream at B&C is Edy's/Dryer's brand. I am guessing it is the same at Movies. B&C does offer a wider variety of sundaes/toppings but it is a small place and can get crazy busy. If you are just looking for standard ice cream concoctions I would go with Movies.

Ghirardelli at Downtown Disney offers some great sundaes too.

I dont think B&C icecream is anything spectacular. I wouldnt go out of my way for it. I would however go out of my way for ghiradelli! OMG soooo VERY yummy! :goodvibes

It's Edy's ice cream (Dreyers if you are on the west coast). You can buy it in the grocery store. The ice cream itself is nothing special.

Where B&C scores points is for the generous portions of ice cream and toppings in the specialty sundaes.

If you are going to just get ice cream you do not need to make a trip unless you want to distinguish between hand-dipped ice cream and soft serve (not that I have much idea what type is served at All Star food courts, but if it's hand dipped it is probably also Edy's). If you want a large sundae you are better off at B&C.

I would say its not worth the bus ride just for ice cream.

The big issue is that you can only get the special sundaes if you are seated and there is very little seating. I asked the hostess the longest wait she has ever told someone and it was like over 2 hours. So in order to get a seat without too much wait you have to hit it at just the right time.

We went out of our way to get there when we stayed at Pop on our last trip. Our main purpose was the Kitchen Sink. It was well worth the trip for the novelty factor - I have some cool pics and video from it and we'll always remember it :)

That said, if we hadn't splurged for this, we would have got an ice cream sundae at Pop.

Personally I think Beaches and Cream is a great experience and we do it every trip. The experience will be much better than All Stars food court. B&C feels like you are in an old fashioned soda shop. however, I always feel anxious when I am at the value food courts because so much is going on and it just is a rushed/crazy experience for me.

With that said, I would NOT take a bus from the All Stars to Beaches and Cream just for ice cream. It is not easy to get from resort to resort. You would probably have to take a bus to Hollywood Studios and then walk the path to the Beach Club (if you didn't want to use a park ticket). If you had the park ticket, you could take the bus to EPCOT and then walk through EPCOT to the Beach Club.

We usually go to B&C when we are at either EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. Our most common tactic is to go to Beaches and Cream for an early dinner when we are at the Studios (we don't like the food choices at the Studios) and then be back in time for Fantasmic. Otherwise we go to B&C for an afternoon snack break when we are at EPCOT.

Yes, the way to get there if you are just using Disney transportation to get between resorts is to take a bus to the Studios and then you can take the boat or walk to the Beach Club.

Don't take the bus to Epcot to access the Epcot resorts, unless you have admission to the park, because you'll need to walk through Epcot to get there.

I agree. If you are already in Epcot, Beaches and Cream is a great cute spot to have some very large sundaes. I wouldnt go out of my way to get there via bus. If you want GOOD ice cream, definitely go to Downtown Disney.

I haven't eaten at B&C, but I have to agree that I would go out of my way for ice cream at Ghirardelli...in fact, I have.

I agree with others; it's not the ice cream. It's the location! Definately worth a trip if you have the time. Put your name in, walk around the BC pool, check out the slide over the boardwalk, walk around the lake and see the Yacht Club, Swan, Dolphin and Boardwalk resorts, see some street performers, ride a surrey bike...and even see a bit of the Illuminations fireworks. Then sit down in an old-fashioned ice cream parlor and enjoy a kitchen sink.

We enjoy going to B & C. Always a fun time!
