Beaches and Cream...

Give me the low down...How good is it?? What do you recommend as their best entree/sandwich, etc... and ice cream dessert?? We have a ressie here for our last afternoon prior to heading home. Thanks!!

When we went there last year their food was pretty standard for a soda shop...I will tell you this...it is EXTREMELY small inside...we were seated at a table and I felt like we were on top of the people next to us...if you get a booth I would imagine it would be better but the tables seem to be very very crowded. Anyways we just go the burgers and my kids got the hot dogs and everyone loved the food...as for the ice cream we just got the single serve ice cream with a topping...it was very good ice cream and their waffle cones were really good. When we go on our trip next year we might stop over just for an ice cream stop, because they do have a take out window...I think the kids liked their ice cream most of all, lol

I've always gotten the burger and it's pretty good. I remember their chocolate shake being pretty disappointing though- it tasted like a Wendy's frosty.

I think next time I'll be trying the No Way Jose or the Banana Split.

We were there a week ago for lunch and it was only half full, which surprised us. We did get a table and it is crowded if you sit at one of them but doable.

My husband and I got the burger and my daughter got the hot dog and they were really good. My son got the chicken sandwich and thought it was okay. They offered watermellon as a side option and we loved that since it was a a change from the standard side of fries and it was lighter/healthier food. The sundaes there are huge but looked really good! Of course, the main attraction of that restaurant is the Kitchen Sink that is filled with 8 scoops of ice cream, oreos, brownies, cake, etc. and whipped cream. We wouldn't be able to eat all of that so we got the Mini Mickey Kitchen Sink and it was really good! It has 3 scoops of ice cream, oreos, brownie, whipped cream, etc. and it comes in a red plastic Mickey Mouse pants sink and is so cute. I got a few comments about where I got it from some of the CMs I ran into in Epcot later. The price of it is a little high (not much less than the Kitchen Sink) but they will rinse it out for you and bag it. Woohoo?! I heard that you can buy it a lot cheaper at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor but you need to do your own rinsing yourself. It is a more unique Disney item to have in your house than most people have, so I was okay with it and that amount of ice cream and goodies was just right after our meal.

Oh, and try going through bag check at Security with the mini sink...The officer asked me what it was and I said, " A Mickey pants kitchen sink." His look was priceless and we had a good laugh about it.

The Angus Beef Burger is amongst the best burgers in all of WDW. I tried the Patty Melt my last trip though and was severely disappointed. The onions were overwhelming. The french fries are always unremarkable.

If you're a peanut butter fanatic like me, the No Way Jose sundae is a can't miss dessert. If your party is big enough and money isn't an issue though, go all out with the Kitchen Sink.

The patty melt was pretty good, fries were pedestrian and the onion rings were very good. The ice cream was very good. I'm interested in seeing how Ample Hills competes. Should alleviate the Fantasmic/Illuminations crowd a bit.

We had the burgers & they were very good. Then we had the kitchen sicnk for my grandson's birthday. It was delicious & there was more than enough cake & ice cream in it for the 5 of us (3 adults a 13 yr old & 10 yr old) it was delicious & so much fun. I would highly recomend it.

I hate to say it, but B&C used to be one of our absolute favorites. I am a sucker for 50s style burger places. We loved it while staying at the Beach Club in 2001 on our honeymoon. We missed it during our 2011 return trip, but made an effort to eat lunch there this past December. Very disappointing. From our trip report:

Lunch was planned along the way with an ADR at Beaches & Cream. I know, I know…I was warned. I read a lot of recent reviews of this place that detailed its fall from grace, but I just didn’t want to believe it! We have such fond memories of meals here from previous trips (admittedly 2001 and earlier) and I just had to find out for myself. Yes, I admit it…you all were right…sigh. While the service, ice cream sodas, and flavored Cokes were all excellent, the burgers and sandwiches left a lot to be desired. What I used to describe as the best burger on property was a rubbery, bland shadow of itself. My wife’s turkey sandwich just lacked flavor and was a bit dry. The fries were decent, but the onion rings were a bit over cooked and fell apart as you bit into them. Ok DISboards, lesson learned.

Our burgers were hot, juicy and delicious, not dry hockey pucks like you get at Cosmic Rays.
Fries were the thick cut variety and onion rings were piping hot and perfectly cooked.
We prefer their burgers over the ones at SciFi. Pretty much all other burgers on property are inedible as far as we are concerned.
We didn't get ice cream (amazing I know) but I did get one of their adult milk shakes. Quite tasty.

I couldn't agree more with the bolded. Yak & Yeti is okay too. T-Rex, Sci-Fi, and Pecos Bill are all lackluster.

Was there a few days ago and had the Reuben at Beaches N Cream (very tasty!) The onion rings really are delicious, too; they are those batter puffy ones, not the skinny ones dredged in bread crumbs. The ice cream, if you have room, all above suggestions for the No Way Jose and the Banana Split are seconded by me as favorites! I went on a hunt for a good burger this trip (similar to my hunt for a good slice of pizza last trip).... I found a really good one at the ESPN Club! The cheddar bacon burger was cooked perfectly! It was thick, juicy, a nice size for the money... However their fries were pretty terrible! Also tried the burger at Cookes of Dublin in Disney Springs right next to Raglan Road. They had been my best burger to date. This time around it was just short of awful! The burger was thin and dry and waaaay too small for the bun. Even with the tomato chutney, etc... the burger needed more seasoning (i.e. salt 'n peppa, people!) But on the flip side, the fries were awesome! So that is my 2 cents on the great burger debate!

I've been x2 and won't be in a hurry to go back. This isn't a bad spot to eat if paying OOP . . . a relatively inexpensive meal near Epcot (not a good value on DDP) but as PPs have mentioned, it is a very small spot with few tables. Even with ADRs, I have always been placed on a stool at the counter. That wouldn't be so bad if the food & the staff were excellent. Both times the food was not great & the service/staff were not happy. Most of the staff have been here for 3 plus yrs or much more (I recognized the same faces from my first visit) and they are still unhappy. Sitting at the counter, you have a front row seat to all the staff issues, personal dating issues, gripes & politics. Not so nice to witness when dining. I've had the sammy & tomato bisque (soup) both times and they were tasty. Not wonderful but good. However, the malted shake was not good (like a Dairy Queen frostie) and the No Way Jose sundae was just OK. Made with basic commercial ice cream. One of those I could make it at home OK. I would much rather have the ice cream at the France Pavilion. If you don't have an ADR for this specifically for the fun of the Kitchen Sink ice cream experience, I personally wouldn't do it. From what I gather, this was a great spot years ago. But sadly, both the food and the service has declined.

Kitchen sink was good but the ice cream melts quickly and becomes a soupy mess. If you get it, I would suggest scooping out the ice cream scoops into your individual bowls they give you and then adding the toppings to that.

My favorite sandwich in all of DW is the Turkey sandwich at B&C. It's served with onions, melted Gouda & cranberry jelly. Delicious!!

Would you fine people who finish the Kitchen Sink please speak up? I laugh and laugh whenever the Kitchen Sink comes up, because there are always multiple posters who talk about how their party couldn't finish it, and I've *never* seen anyone counter that their group of X people did.
I plan to go there for my son's birthday for an "ice-cream dinner," and when I show my three sons the photos, they have no doubt that they will be fighting over the final spoonful of ice-cream soup at the bottom of it.
