Still trying to decide where all I'm going to eat, based on who accepts the DDE card. Beaches and Cream is listed, but the description is:

Beaches & Cream Soda Shop
(excludes take out shop)

Can someone explain the take out shop. Is it just a walkup window or something? Is there also a sit down restaurant and this is the part that accepts the DDE?

One more question, this is in walking distance from Epcot, right? Can someone tell me how you get there and how long it takes?

Again, thanks for all the advice!

Beaches & Cream is in the Beach club resort, about a five minute walk up from the International Gate at WS.
The take out window, is not a window at all: you line up at the take out counter and then leave the building. There are tables outside on the veranda of the resort.
The B&C restaurant is like an old Soda fountain. YOu get hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, soda, milk shakes. Typical feel good food. It is sitdown, there is also a counter where you can sit just like in a diner (or Denny's).
Tables are small, only 3foot in diameter, sits three nicely, four in pinch, more than 4 and you are very crowded.
food is cooked to order, service is good, can be slow especially during lunch and dinner hours. The place is small, maybe sitting for 40people in total.
Ice cream sundae is best here.

Beaches and Cream is, in my opinion, about a 10 minute walk from the International Gateway at Epcot. The walk itself is great. You will pass Stormalong Bay, and see the Boardwalk across Crescent Lake - it is very enjoyable.
We enjoyed our burgers and onion rings; I have heard others say they felt the burgers were "greasy". The ice cream is to die for.
There is a sit down restaurant as well as a take away window. There are tables over looking the pool area for the take out.
I do not know the particulars of the DDE.
Enjoy Beaches and Cream, it is a nice place

Beaches and Cream is one of my favorite restaurants, it is my husband's all-time favorite.

We used our last voucher there last week. Our standard voucher routine was to split a meal. We always got a double cheeseburger with fruit on the side and a No Way Jose sundae.

We did use our DDE card after we ran out of vouchers and got the same thing.

The sit down area is small, but we walked over around 2:00 for lunch, and found several empty tables. Hamburgers were OK, Not spectacular in my opinion. However, we ordered a great dessert, and it tasted better than it looked.

None of us enjoyed Beaches and Cream. The food was awful. I have travelled a lot but I can say that this was quite easily the worst food I have ever tasted. To be fair it was the food from the take away window and we ate the wraps. Dont touch them! They are expensive and tasteless. The service was poor too. It was a nice setting but I wont go back in a hurry. The whole experience spoiled the build up to our Illuminations Cruise. :sad2:

We LOVE going to Beaches & Cream. This past trip, we ate there twice and went for ice cream one night! We think the burgers are outstanding and love the milkshakes! We especially love that it is just another one of those little hidden gems off the beaten path at WDW. :goodvibes

I don't know if I would go as far as to say it is awful but it is what it is. A fast food hamburger and hotdog place that sells ice cream and onion rings. They closed Ariels years ago with the stated intention at that time to expand Beaches and Cream so it could accommodate more people. Well, 10 years later, everyone is still cramming into the little place with the noisy arcade next door. I will eat there for a quick bite if I am staying at the Y&B. I never understood the clamour to deliberately seek it out and have a meal there unless you are going with someone who has never had the kitchen sink. It's an interesting experience but I don't like the cookies and cakey type toppings they use. I guess I am with you when I say I don't really get it.

Does anyone know what time they close at night??? I am trying to deciede if we will have enough time to grab a kitchen sink after a wishes cruise or if we should do it beforehand.

I think that they are open pretty late because we always went late for ice cream. You should be okay.

B&C closes at 11pm. There is a door that goes to the take out counter and another door to enter the seating area. We have seen them not allow food to be ordered at the take out counter, just ice cream. I think it depends on how busy they are. You can refill your Y&BC mug there.

We always eat at B&C at least once every trip. Yes, it can be crowded, but we try to go mid afternoon and that makes a big difference. The arcade next door isn't too bad unless the door between them is left open.

We think they have the best burgers at WDW. To call it "fast food" is doing it a disservice.. it is many steps above that. The chicken noodle soup is very good also. And the ice cream .. well, I think you get the idea on that! :)

We love Beaches and Cream!! We've also traveled allot and B+C has some of the best "50's themed American dining" faire there is! They play great music and the kids can hang out in the arcade that is immediately next door (while you wait for your table/booth).

We love B&C for the sundaes, milkshakes and onion rings, but we prefer burgers at Concourse Steak House, Le Cellier, Big River and the golf course bar at Shades of Green (can't think of the name), much more than B&C's burgers.

It's Evergreens and you can't beat the price!

Thanks for all the replies! I think maybe one day we'll have lunch over there. We have planned for two whole days in Epcot and maybe a half day also, so we should be able to work it in.

The Kitchen Sink - how many people does this feed? Please tell me everyone doesn't eat out of the one big bowl? Do they bring separate bowls for each person to scoop their ice cream into? My kids would freak out if they carried one of those to our table.

We've only ever eaten the ice cream and it was very, very yummy. The rest of the food looked good-burgers, fries, etc. If that's what you want, I'm sure it will be good. :sunny:

Just so you know, the Kitchen Sink is HUGE! We saw a family of 7 order one last week and only half of it was eaten...four of the 7 were adults and that was their dinner. It is ONE large bowl (kitchen sink) with all the ice cream, brownies, whipped cream, sauces, etc in it. Yes, everyone eats out of the same bowl.

They said that one average size man did walk in and finish the entire sink in 15 minutes...he wasn't charged for it!

Enjoy it!
