Can you make a ressie for B&C? We are a party of 11 and want to get the kitchen sink for one day on our trip.

What would you recommend?

Beaches and Cream is a really small place. I dont think they take ressies.
Its decent food. We didnt order the kitchen sink but wowie wow wow was it impressive looking. Good luck if you try it!

They do not take them. Go anyway you will get seated. You will love it there. :Pinkbounc

I'd just suggest you don't go right after Illuminations. It is usually quite packed then and you may have a long wait, especially with a group that size.

Enjoy!

Try between lunch and dinner as many people are out at the parks at that time. I would still expect a wait though, as B&C is tiny. Have a great time!

We have had very good luck arriving right when they open. We just don't eat breakfast that morning and have an early lunch. I "think" they open at 11 a.m. Someone correct me if I am wrong!

Yes, 11 o' clock is when B&C opens.

My DD was embarassed that I was waiting at the door for the CM to let us in on our last trip.

Yes, it does get that crowded! :)

We love B&C. I can't believe we never thought of getting there right at opening. One of those DUH moments. Good call! :flower:
BTW, How old is DD? If she's anywhere between 8 and 18, I'm pretty sure everything her parents do will embarass her ;)

We went at 10:50 and waited for it to open, and got a seat when they did (and we were not waiting by ourselves, that place filled up fast).

We plan to do the same thing on our next trip. We did get in to B&C one evening, but when you are tired and hungry, and your kids are tired and hungry, it isn't fun waiting outside for a table. The time we went at night was not a good experience for us because I have a DD who gets low blood sugar and she was so cranky by the time we got seated and were servced our food we just wanted to eat and get out of there.

The time we went right when they opened was a LOT of fun. We got a Kitchen Sink and they made a big announcement to everyone in the room and we had the CM take our picture.

Good Luck! I really wish they would make this place larger!

That's what we did...had a fantastic time! :cool1: BTW we were there at 11:15, and we did have to wait

I found this description of the Kitchen Sink. I think it sounds wonderful! :earboy2: :earboy2:

The sundae includes a scoop of every flavor of ice cream they serve, including coffee and mint flavors. It also includes all of their toppings - fudge, strawberries, caramel, pineapple, almonds, Oreos, and Snickers chunks, to name a few. The sundae is finally topped with an entire can of whipped cream, and lots of cherries.

What is the "kitchen sink"?

I would suggest going at any "off time" since you are a large group. It is a very small place with a few booths, a few seats at the counter and about 5 round typical soda shop tables in the middle...it'll be hard seating the group together probably.

The Kitchen Sink is wicked!! It (or at least ours) had a pool of hot fudge, caramel, and peanut butter sauce on the bottom, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, strawberry, mint chocolate chip ice creams, topped with an entire can of whipped cream, chocolate chunk sprinkles, rainbow sprinkles, a couple oreo cookies, a couple fudge brownies, a couple banana nut muffins, a couple slices of angel food cake, a milky way candy bar cut in half, practically an entire jar of marichino cherries, and drizzled with chocolate syrup.

Here is a photo of it from 12/23

and here is the damage DH, DS and I did...mind you it was our lunch!!!

Okay...we didn't eat all the muffin, brownies, oreos, candy bar or cake, but man it was fun! They did dim the lights and announce that a group of little piggies had ordered the kitchen sink and proceeded to tell what was in it. Everyones eyes were as big as the sink as it came to our table. And hey, it was cheaper than ordering 3 separate sundaes.

Does anybody mind my asking approximately how much this Kitchen Sink costs? :confused3 Just curious. Also, can you ask them NOT to put in a certain flavor of ice cream? (coffee - ick) I'd LOVE to go there in December and check out the gingerbread house! Thanks!

Yes, you can request certain things to be left out...we had two scoops of mint instead of one coffee scoop and one mint scoop. It was $23 including tax. We had one last week and ate about 1/2 of it. I highly recommend it! We went after our IllumiNations cruise and it was busy but not packed. The take-out line was long, though.

Since it's safe to post this here, since the secret is out....

I researched extensively and did reading on the Kitchen Sink. I knew we wanted one when we went to Disney in March 2008.

I never knew about the announcement and lights when you ordered the Kitchen Sink!

It's a pretty well kept secret IMO, and our experience was all the more enjoyable because we had no idea we were going to be subjected to public humiliation. :rotfl:

I will only post this in this thread or one where the secret is out. I think that not knowing the first time is a good thing. Though it's really fun talking about it now that the cat is out of the bag. :goodvibes

Speaking of the coffee ice cream, does the flavors melt together quickly or can some of us avoid it? (I know ice creams melts together. The question is how quickly.) My DH would probably love the coffee ice cream, & our DS & his GF possibly would. It depends on how strong the flavor is, & their mood that day. :rolleyes1 I hate anything that has a coffee flavor. Is it possible to avoid it, or should we substitute with another flavor?

I love to know about the surprises, but keep them from my family. If I don't know about it either, I'm too surprised to notice their reaction. Seeing their faces, is priceless. :p Yes, I'm mean that way.

The flavors melt 'normally', BUT if you have anyone in your group who doesn't like a flavor - you may want to skip it entirely.

As you can see from the pictures, it's pretty hard to know what you're getting when you scoop stuff out into your dish. There is a lot of whipped cream that hides things. We joked it was like a constant treasure hunt when you scooped a serving into your bowl, you never knew (at first) what you would be getting. Later on, once you have a lot out of the 'sink' you can move things around more and see better, but by then things are kind of melted.
