Ive been trying for a couple of weeks to get a dinner reservation for the end of July.

Granted I didn't try at 180 days out, but didn't think it would be that tough to get!

It's very tough to get. Usually goes fairly quick. My advice is to leave that time slot open and keep checking, particularly when full balances are due and also 60 days out on FP+ scheduling. Oh and 1 day before they really open up b/c of cancellations. Super popular places with a small amount of tables though.

Yes. It is very small, very popular, and very hard to get
Cancellations do occur so keep checking

Don't give up. Keep checking as people do cancel, epecially as you get to the 30 day mark.
Also look at the reservation finder at touring plans. It has helped us in the past with hard to get reservations.
Good luck!

One of the toughest to get because it's so tiny and quite popular. I always book it at 180 days and a few times I have tried to switch the day closer to my trip and have never had luck doing so. Try one of the reservation finders (i.e. on mouse dining or touring plans), that will help you watch for any cancellations.

I trick a Beaches and Cream CM shared with us when we ate there was if you haven't been able to get an ADR in check always check for ADRs when it starts to rain. A lot of the their guests walk over from Epcot and it seems that when it starts to rain MANY people decide to cancel their ADRs. That's how we got our very last minute ADR. You could also try walking up when it rains. When we got our ADR it had been raining for a while and the place was practically deserted. I think at most it was half full during our entire meal and that was the week of July 4.

Just keep trying and if you don't get it you might go over to the Dolphin. They have a similar restaurant that is pretty good, I actually prefer it.

Anytime i check the app it’s often available the day before or day of. We’ve also walked up around 11ish am and sat at the counter.

Some of the PP mentioned this above, but I would try the touring plans reservation finder. We must have gotten lucky last year because we booked in December '16 for our February '17 stay and were able to get Beaches and Cream no problem on the first try.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. I'm not sure I see the attraction to this place. Small, very noisy, and the food is just ok. To be clear, we're two somewhat senior types. We love to hit the to go window for the good ice cream...but while waiting in the to go line for said ice cream, I say it every time...why do people flock here? Ok...so start throwing arrows at me...:):):).

The food is clearly not world-class or anything like that, but I found it to be very good. We are the opposite of you in that we have two little boys, so the noise is welcome to us haha. I think this is one place where the reputation and the unique ice cream offerings drive people there. As many have also said it is VERY small. I was surprised at just how small it was when we visited for the first time last month! Overall, we loved it though and would definitely go back again. We did book right at 180 days though

It's cute. And unique. We've always enjoyed the food and the sundaes

Saying that, I won't wait more than 15 minutes. I can go to the dolphin for a similar experience

Nothing inherently "wrong" with B&C, but neither the ice cream nor the food are worth the hassle of trying to get in when there are better, more easily accessible options at Boardwalk and Swan & Dolphin.

We haven't tried the similar restaurant at the S/D, but I sure like Ample Hills better then B&C. We're staying at the Boardwalk next time..nice and close to AH:)

I also recommend using the touring plans reservation finder. I put in a request last week for a specific day/time for our trip next week and it popped up on Monday. The reason it's so hard to get is because the limited number of seats, but we love it there!!

We usually make a point of stopping by Ample Hills, and really enjoy the ice cream there.

Hopefully, you'll end up having the same experience we did last trip. When we booked, there very limited availability on the first couple days of our trip. But then we had a family emergency about a week beforehand, DH wasn't going to be able to join me until later in the week, so I cancelled B&C. However, once I got to WDW, I happened to check again, and several ADRs had opened up for later in the week. We ended up actually having our choice of several times. Good luck!

What is the name of the this other place over at the dolphin ?
Do they have food or is it just an ice cream place ?

and is it bigger than Beaches and Cream?
I'd like to give it a try.

I think beaches is very busy also because it can be used as a quick sit down for a burger/sandwiches or ice cream because they do take walk ups for those willing to wait. It is very tiny.
