Beaches and Cream impossible to get?

What is the name of the this other place over at the dolphin ?
Do they have food or is it just an ice cream place ?

and is it bigger than Beaches and Cream?
I'd like to give it a try.

I think beaches is very busy also because it can be used as a quick sit down for a burger/sandwiches or ice cream because they do take walk ups for those willing to wait. It is very tiny.

It's called the Fountain. I don't think it's any bigger but it's almost always less busy. They have food, I like it better than B&C. and you don't need ADRs.

I live in NJ which is the home of the diner. I think B&C is really good for diner food. It's not gourmet but for burgers and ice cream it hits the spot. If you don't have these kind of places at home I can see the draw.

I had the grilled cheese with tomato bisque and it was great!

My son had it and really enjoyed it. I had the patty melt and it was delicious! My favorite was the cherry syrup they put in the Coke. It was sooooo good!

I remember being able to walk in here 20 years ago, get a burger and a sundae with no wait. Has the food changed significantly in the past 20 years to make it such a high-demand eatery?

I mean, it was good ice cream... decent burgers... but nothing earth-shattering...

It's very tough to get. Usually goes fairly quick. My advice is to leave that time slot open and keep checking, particularly when full balances are due and also 60 days out on FP+ scheduling. Oh and 1 day before they really open up b/c of cancellations. Super popular places with a small amount of tables though.

Will take all your tips into account, fingers crossed!

I trick a Beaches and Cream CM shared with us when we ate there was if you haven't been able to get an ADR in check always check for ADRs when it starts to rain. A lot of the their guests walk over from Epcot and it seems that when it starts to rain MANY people decide to cancel their ADRs. That's how we got our very last minute ADR. You could also try walking up when it rains. When we got our ADR it had been raining for a while and the place was practically deserted. I think at most it was half full during our entire meal and that was the week of July 4.

really?

That's a great tip!

Thanks!

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. I'm not sure I see the attraction to this place. Small, very noisy, and the food is just ok. To be clear, we're two somewhat senior types. We love to hit the to go window for the good ice cream...but while waiting in the to go line for said ice cream, I say it every time...why do people flock here? Ok...so start throwing arrows at me...:):):).

Ive got two little girls ecstatic because they believe they're old enough to eat and finish the kitchen sink :confused3

Just keep trying and I'm sure you will be able to get a reservation. It might not be an ideal time, but it could be. I just booked a trip to WDW this past Saturday and got a reservation for 7/20 on that day...much less than 180 days out. Just have to be persistent. And definitely check the week of or the day before if all else fails.

I am very confident for you, because I was able to score a dinner reservation at Be Our Guest just a few weeks ahead. I just hit refresh a lot and was persistent! People cancel and reschedule alllllll the time. Myself included.

I didn't know that they took the dining plan. I did walk in at lunch time once with just a ten minute wait. You may consider walking over from Epcot through the international gateway and try to grab lunch there. In the meantime while you wait you have a decent view of the pool at the Beach and Yacht club which is nice.

We were able to get a reservation for 7 last summer but I book early as possible. The service there was great both times we went. The food may not be 5 star but it's good as any other table service restaurant. Plus, on the DXDP you can get the Kitchen Sink using 4 people's dining credit. 7 of us shared it (2 toddlers) and still didnt' finish it, but we came close. I would say keep trying if you really want to eat there. It was good experience for us.

I originally reserved at 180+3, but a few weeks/month later (150-180 days) decided to change my time and there were times available. Just checked for my dates and nothing at 117-118 days out, so probably your best bet is to look the day before when people sometimes cancel.
