Beachclub vs Ft Wilderness

We had some major upheaval with our reservations with the free dining thing, and military discounts, etc.

Bear with me here. :)

We had reservations for Ft Wilderness with the intent to use the military salute discount. We can't use the discount for Ft. Wilderness for our dates. We are staying at Ft. Wilderness for the second week of the trip and using free dining, so we're happy with that. We can use the military salute for the Beachclub, though.

We have a choice between Club Level and water view room. Price is 200 difference. They said that Club level has a "breakfast." What's that like? Is Club level 200 bucks more worthy? Better view? Better room?

I'm concerned because we will probably not get a dining plan for the week that doesn't have free dining, since my dh hates eating out. So should we pay more and stick with the cabin so we will have a full kitchen to eat in?

I would love everyone's thoughts. :)

Oh, I should say, cabins will be about 2000, BC water room 1600, BC club room 1900

I would go with the Beach Club no matter if it's a regular room or a Club Level room. From there you can walk to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios, plus you are also within walking distance of the Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Swan & Dolphin.

Now the breakfast offerings when staying Club Level at the Beach Club is various items like Oatmeal, Hard Boiled Eggs, Bagels, Toast, Fruits and a few different types of Cereal.

Are the Club Level rooms any different than the regular rooms?

what is the difference in the view between a Club level standard view, and a regular room water view?

I think we're going to go with the BC. :) We will still be at the cabins for part of the trip, so it's a good compromise. I'm really looking forward to the cabins.

Originally we had not planned on getting the dining plan for that week, but since BC is so close to EPCOT, I think we should. Any thoughts?

The design of their Standard Rooms is the same and the views would be the same no matter the room category you select. So basically a Standard View or Lagoon View offer the view you reserved and are the same no matter if your staying on a regular floor or staying Club Level.

One difference I can say is that their Standard Club Level Rooms are all located on the 5th floor which is a 100% Club Level floor, so you will know that in advance before you check-in.

I was under the assumption that standard view club level at beach club was a view of the rooftop or parking lot, but i could be mistaken.

I just got off the phone, and I ended up booking a garden view room at the Yacht Club with the military discount. It was 400 cheaper than the cheapest room at the Beach Club, and we don't really care about snacks at the Club Level, although the planning might have been nice. Still not worth 400 bucks - to me. I know it is to some people.

We ended up getting standard dining to go with it. I'm nervous about the dining plan for some reason... Booking a package all seems so final, lol.

I don't mean to put a snag into your already planned plans...but have you thought about staying in a villa at either Beach Club or Boardwalk.

The studios have decent kitchenettes, and the 1 and 2 bedrooms have full kitchens.

Kitchenettes - microwave, full DORM size refrigerator, sink, nice counter space, paper plates, cups, napkins, plastic flatware.

Full kitchens - full size refrigerator and range, microwave, dish washer, pots and pans, etc. plus they also have washer and dryer, and jacuzzi tubs.

You can creatively alot with the kitchenettes and the full kitchens are as good or better as the kitchen in your first apartment.

We have to choose rooms that are not booked up under the military discount, so we didn't have a choice of a villa. But I don't think the cost would work for what we want to spend. :)

I'm excited about staying at the cabins with a full kitchen, and the privacy. And then we also get to stay at a Deluxe EPCOT resort, so I am very excited, and I think we have the best of both worlds.

So, right now we are staying at the YC Nov 22-27 w/the dining plan, and the 4 day military tickets and 40% military resort discount. Then we're staying at the cabins from Nov 27 until Dec 5 with free dining and 8 day base tickets. As a family of 5, 2 rooms is ideal for long term, so we have the cabins for the bulk of our stay, and then a few days at the EPCOT area for eating, basically, lol. And maybe I'm wrong, but I think we have maxed out the discounts that we could get for the trip, as well. That just means more for souvenirs!
