Beach Towels??

Do most families pack their own beach towels for the pool/beach? I thought I read somewhere that Disney had towels by the pool but they were small-is that correct? How does it work on Castaway Cay-do you have to put down a deposit on towels or anything like that? If its easier I will just pack our own but beach towels do take up some room in the luggage!!

DCL provides towels poolside and at CC. As well as for beach excursions. The towels are pretty much like the bath towels in the room. They are big and fluffy in my experience. You can take as many of them as you wish. I usually take two.

DCL doesn't assess a charge for towels. As long as we all do as we're supposed to and return them after use, this should continue.

Agree with above except that they are big and fluffy......they are smaller than our standard size bath towel at home. I like a full sized towel so I will either bring my own beach towel or what I love to do is purchase a DCL towel onboard on the first night as a "working souvenir".

There are teak cabinets by all the pool which are stocked with towels and you can use as many as you need. They also have bins where you leave the used ones.

On Castaway Cay they will hand out towels when you first get on the island. They have bins on the island and outside the ship to deposit the dirty towels.

I usually take 3 for myself. I like to use one as a pillow sometimes. They aren't as fluffy and long as regular beach towels, but they aren't flimsy either. I know some cruise lines give you a towel to use at the pool and on excursions, but will charge you if it goes missing. Not DCL!!

I much rather use them than pack my own. I bring too much stuff as it is!

We use the DCL towels, there are plenty available and its one less thing to keep track of or to wash.

The towels are great. They are big and fluffy and you can take as many as you want.

I usually take 3 or 4, depending on how many deck chairs I need to save in the morning.

On Castaway Cay they will hand out towels when you first get on the island. They have bins on the island and outside the ship to deposit the dirty towels.

Just remember to grab towels when you get off the ship at CC. There are no towels elsewhere on the island. Except maybe in the cabanas.

Just take some towels from the ship and return them when your done. They are the size of a regular bath towel so if you put a couple together they could work like a beach towel.

I actually seem to recall that they do have them elsewhere on Castaway Cay. We did a jetski tour in December and forgot to bring towels off the ship. Since I dumped us off the jetski into the water we were soaked when we got back to shore and there was a bin with fresh towels right there on the beach. Then we just dropped them into the bin at the ship before reboarding.

Also, if you are going on an excursion (at least a Disney one) that has the expectation of going swimming, they will hand them out at the meeting point in the morning.
