Beach Hoppin' With the Wigdout Gang! A super speedy trip report.

DSCN3951.jpg

Love the shirt! I almost bought the green one ;)

I'm thinking we might need to go to O'hana's when we take our next trip!! Those pictures reminded me of how much fun we had there! The bread pudding is GREAT :lovestruc

Ohhhhhhh I am so behind :headache: Love all of your pictures....is it me or is Baylor being a super ham this trip with his posing? He is cracking me up....you can totally see that he is having such a great time! :woohoo:
I didn't know that about Lotso...he looks so nice and soft....and didn't you say he smelled like strawberries? :sad2:
Did you enjoy Ohana? I still have not gone there.....the meat sounds good but the sides not so much :confused3
Congrats to micandmin.....I would also like to know about Shocker's texting/fb because he was doing many an update also......just sayin ;)

I was way off on my guess...but that's typical for me.

That Carrot Cake Cookie looks AWESOME. I wonder how many calories are in that thing. FYI as a former Field Training Mgr for Cheesecake Factory, the Carrot Cake is one of the highest calorie items in the restaurant. I won't even tell you how high it is, but it's over 1000, over 1200, over 1500.....

We entered the theater, chose where to sit, decided to move closer to the center in another row, and perused the menu. Baylor chose the 1/2 lb Angus cheeseburger and fries, Wigd had an Angus hot dog, fries, and some sort of Bananas Foster dessert, and I had an order of Cheese Fries. The food arrived right as the movie was starting so it was kind of hard to concentrate on the movie and try to eat without spilling food all over yourself.

As others have mentioned, I do not want to give too many details, but I laughed out loud numerous times and cried many tears.

I hope Baylor enjoyed this adventure as we paid a premium price to see it in 3D and as you might imagine, the price of the food in the theater was anything but reasonable.

I'm sure he enjoyed it. I enjoyed it just from the description of the food. (I really want a burger. :rotfl:)

It definitely wasn't worth the extra money. The previews had LOTS of 3D effects, but the movie not so much.

Glad to hear this, now I can save that extra money for something else.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but now that I know he's a bad guy, I'm wondering why he's gotten so much publicity. I thought he was a good guy - cuddly, good-smelling Grandpa bear.

Aw, I didn't know he was a bad guy. He looks so cuddly and he's pink! I still might want my picture with him just because he's pink.

Wigd sent and received 861 texts, so the winner is.......

Congrats!

Love the pic of Baylor and the snowman. Such a ham!
 the Poly, I would love to stay there someday....trying to talk Ben into for our next trip, hopefully next summer.

Took Hannah to see TS3 today. We loved it!

I wasn't too far off on my guess.

The carrot cake cookie looks great. I've never tried the Writers Shop so we'll have to pop in.

Love the guys in grass skirts. Do y'all know why they dressed up?

Ok...that carrot cake cookie? YUM! What's the filling? It looks like cream cheese.

Baylor is such a character! I love the picture of him with the snowman :rotfl2:

I don't want Lotso near any of my loved ones, either!!! Wonder how many little kids are going to start crying when they see him now!

I think you need a grass skirt for your next Ohana's visit, Shocker.

I don't want Lotso near any of my loved ones, either!!! Wonder how many little kids are going to start crying when they see him now!

I think I may be one of the ones crying.
I was all prepared to love the sweet little old Grandpa bear guy.

Could this lead to a fear of bears, like the fear of clowns that is so widespread? :scared1:

Whittling down the list........some more

I can't believe I got that close! :cool1:

I also hope you guys have unlimited text!

I love beaches and cream! I'm hoping to get over there again sometime soon!

Sounds like you a great day at DHS! I love all your pics! I love the one of Baylor in the snow! :rotfl2:

I'm not familiar at all with the TS characters but WHY would they make a pink, cuddly, smells like berries bear a bad guy??:confused3

Hope you are enjoying some pool time this weekend! :thumbsup2

 Let's hope not! Doesn't it make you wonder if the people who make these decisions for the parks had even seen the movie yet?

I'm not familiar at all with the TS characters but WHY would they make a pink, cuddly, smells like berries bear a bad guy??:confused3

I read an article somewhere about it, and the makers said they wanted the irony of this seemingly cute, pink bear being evil. :confused3

All of a sudden I'm very glad to have had my picture taken with him BEFORE I saw the movie LOL!!!!! :rotfl2:

I think they only used Lotso since he was a main character of the newest movie. This may one of the few times a character with evil tendancies due to abadoment issues is not fully redeemed. I guess Stinky Pete wasn't redeemed either.

Lotso wasn't mean to the kids, just everyone else.

Some have said it I think. Since he is a made up toy, there are no licensing or copyrights to obtain. Easy way to promote and collect on that marketing.

I found my son's Buzz. He was in the guest room with Flik and Tigger. :rotfl2:
I have placed back on a shelf in his room. Waiting to see when he noticied him and what he does.

His room is full of little creatures, dragons, dinos and transforming types ready for battle. He says they are protecting his room.
He ditched Buzz but kept Skippy from Alien Encounter ( Before Stitch). DS hates stitch because he ruined this ride.

That sounds interesting. I've never been to a theater like that.

What did you think of the 3D-ness of it? I read where someone else said it was not worth it and they wished they would have seen it the normal way.

Or maybe the top of the train station? There are seats there, as well, and a better and different view.

Congratulations to micandminforever for your grand prize! Can't wait to see what you win! My guess would have been 1112, so I would have been way over. I'm not a good guesser, which is why I don't usually play the games.
The theater is fun, the only trouble is eating your food in the dark...
I like to see my food!
The 3Dness of it? I'm not so sure it added to it. That's all they offered at that place we went though.
The train station would be awesome if we can get there early enough to get good places for the strollers and seats for us old folks!
Not sure what the prize is going to be for this one, we brought back several prize worthy souvies!
You know what they say, if you don't play you CAN'T WIN!!!

That reminds me of one of those birds that crashes into windows!!!

How fun!!! I wish we had a movie theater like that around here!

That's right -- I remember now!

She'll be so excited!!! She left yesterday for her trip to WDW!
We were just talking about that guy yesterday and how lucky he was that he didn't hit a window. I'm not sure if the heat had got to him or what but he sure was confused after the incident...
My only wish about our theater experience was for them to be a little quicker with the food so I could get a look at it!

Congrats to MicandMin! Hope you are having fun!

Cute Tigger! I want to try the drawing class this summer.
How long is the walk to DHS from BCV or BWV?
Hmmm I may have to see TS3 today.
My comment on the walk is that if it's hot, it's too far!
The drawing class is fun, do it!!!
Take something to protect your drawings like a big ziplock and a rubberband to roll them.
We are taking a tube for the luggage next trip.

I don't think the walk is too far, although not as close as Epcot. When we've stayed at Boardwalk we would walk over to Swan and Dolphin dock and ride to the studios. That way you don't have to go to the other stops (Beach club and Boardwalk). On the way back we got off at the Swan and walked over the bridge to the Boardwalk. We always beat the boat back!
We walked in the spring and I'm sure we will in the fall and winter too!
It definitely wasn't worth the extra money. The previews had LOTS of 3D effects, but the movie not so much.

Definitely not!
That darn Lotso! I'm not sure how much extra they charge, we didn't have a choice...
so close, yet so far away!

congrats, micandminforever!

wait.....she won the contest AND she's in WDW right now???? maybe she should play the lottery today!
She is one lucky Min isn't she Punkin?
How much to pay to whittle down my hips?
Stomach?

Thighs?

You do such an effective job at whittling I thought I would ask!!
Oh Dawn! I miss you girl!
MY guys told me that Toy Story was AMAZING! I love that kind of theater -- there is one like that in Bethesda MD that is so fun to go to! Glad you all liked it! I didn't know Cars2 was coming out either!!!

At least I was in the first cut for the text msg contest!!! :rotfl:

Sure seems like this trip was a fun one for you all!

I am enjoying this TR as I get ready to head to WDW TOMORROW Myself :)

:thumbsup2
Are you there yet??? Are you there yet???
Sigh. I want to win a contest.

Okay....shhhhhh on not wanting Lotso to hug your loved ones!
Somehow I knew you would really want to win.....
Leslie, we just didn't want you to form any pre-movie attachments to the pink guy like Baylor, Jen and I did....
Just looking out for the ones we love.
:lovestruc
861 texts. Wow! Your contests are such fun! Looks like a great day at DHS!

PS- Wigd... I believe I did say "cruising" earlier... ;)
We did have fun at DHS!
Woot to Cruise!

I haven't seen the movie yet, but now that I know he's a bad guy, I'm wondering why he's gotten so much publicity. I thought he was a good guy - cuddly, good-smelling Grandpa bear.

What about the cute little peas in a pod? Good guys, I hope?

And I saw a cute little unicorn, I think. I might have to get one of those, if so. One of the first stories Jill wrote in school was called 'The Unicron'. The teacher gave them (or had them choose) a sticker, and they had to write a story about it. Hers was a unicorn, which will now forever be in our memories as a unicron, because that's the way she spelled it. I'll have to find that, now that I am traveling down Memory Lane this morning.

Yum for the carrot cake cookie.
I think I got a text at that time.

That's is what I read. I will be happy to see it on the regular screen.

For real!
Cute little peas:thumbsup2
Unicron:thumbsup2
That darn good smellin grandpa bear....:headache:
Regular screen:thumbsup2

Have fun!!!

Looks like a great DHS day. How was that cookie? It sure looks yummy!

We can't wait to see TS3. I'll be sure to take tissues. I love theaters like that with food but don't go often because of the price!

I'm hoping with Lotso being a bad guy my two won't want to wait in line for a picture!
OH boy was the cookie good! Plan to share it!
That was an expensive trip to the movies but Baylor hadn't been there before and he really thought it was cool!
We won't do it again for a long time!
Maybe the line for Lotso won't be long if they want to do it!

No doubt! I think now that the movie is out, this won't be a very popular meet & greet! He looks so cute and lovable too!

We have a theater here that sells food too, but it's only in the balcony and they also serve adult beverages so kids can't sit up there. Ticket prices are crazy, $18 each, plus the cost of your food and drinks - it's a special treat for us to sit up there, we've only done it a couple of times.
We have one here too with the balcony like that, we have never been up there....
This one lets kids in until 8 pm.
Great seating though. Nice and deep stadium seating. Everyone can see! They bring out little tables that hook into your drink holder.

THanks for the review of TS3. Can't wait to try it. We actually haven't been to the Old Town theatre either, but have done the balcony out East. The balcony is a good date night cuddle fest, LOL.

Yeah, I had heard before the release that Lotso isn't all he's sewn up to be!?
:rolleyes1
You should take the kids to Old Town some time on a Wednesday. $5 movies!
The seating is great!
Lotso is a creep!
Sewn up to be! Great one Steph!!!
We should plan a dismeet for a dis movie! How about Tangled??

Taking Hannah to see TS3 in a few hours! :woohoo:
I'll be sure to bring some tissues!
Sooooo, did you love it?
Love the DHS photos.
I  the Poly.

The poly is easy to love!!!

OOOOH....I was so close LOL!!!!!!!!!! Off by 10....bummer!! Oh well congrats to the winner!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to tell you both how much I enjoyed spending that time with you guys and Baylor! It was such a great weekend!! I enjoyed talking at our meals and especially just relaxing on the TTA!! Baylor is such a hoot!!!! I enjoyed talking with him!! I'm so looking forward to many different meets to and from trips to Kansas!!!! and when you come down to help on my garden (I am going to hold you to that LOL) :rotfl:

It was also such a treat to meet Trent. Memom you have one very nice gentleman for a son!!!! :thumbsup2

Love Baylor's pick at the snowman...I am not ashamed to admit that once upon a time I thought that got left up from Christmas and Disney forgot it back there LOL!!!!!

Looking forward to more!

You are a gem, Jen! We enjoyed you too! Can't wait until our next visit! Shouldn't be much longer!

Wigd/Shocker - have you seen the pics of the model rooms for the new DVC Hawaii resort? I am plotting a trip already. Wonder how many points a week in Hawaii will be?

I didn't know Lotso was a bad guy! He looks so cute and cuddly. What a productive day at DHS! You guys got so much done! Amy loves doing the drawing glasses.
Shocker- I'm sure you must of been dying to wear one of those skirts!

Love the shirt! I almost bought the green one ;)

I'm thinking we might need to go to O'hana's when we take our next trip!! Those pictures reminded me of how much fun we had there! The bread pudding is GREAT :lovestru
I like the shirt! The melon is my color!
O'hana is a fav for Marc and Baylor, I like it too!

Ohhhhhhh I am so behind Love all of your pictures....is it me or is Baylor being a super ham this trip with his posing? He is cracking me up....you can totally see that he is having such a great time!
I didn't know that about Lotso...he looks so nice and soft....and didn't you say he smelled like strawberries?

Congrats to micandmin.....I would also like to know about Shocker's texting/fb because he was doing many an update also......just sayin ;)

Tracy
Shocker was sneaking on his phone too!
Lotso does smell like strawberries and John (Michelle's dh) warned us of his less than stellar personality but I just didn't know how rotten he was!
I say give O'hana a try! If you like shrimp, save room, they bring it out last...
Make your adr late so you can watch wishes from the dining room!

Don't count the calories Jordan.....

I'm sure he enjoyed it. I enjoyed it just from the description of the food. (I really want a burger. :rotfl:)

Lucky micandmin!
I just had to have Lotso!!
He still is cute!
and smells nice....
I think Baylor enjoyed his burger!

Love the pic of Baylor and the snowman. Such a ham!
 the Poly, I would love to stay there someday....trying to talk Ben into for our next trip, hopefully next summer.

Took Hannah to see TS3 today. We loved it!
He knew we were facebooking and taking them for the trip report so we was really posing!
I so wish DVC would put some villas in at the Poly....
TS3 it was soooo good!

I wasn't too far off on my guess.

The carrot cake cookie looks great. I've never tried the Writers Shop so we'll have to pop in.

Love the guys in grass skirts. Do y'all know why they dressed up?
The guys were dressed by the Ohana folks to help with the limbo....
Yes go to the writer's stop, neat little shop! Carrot Cake cookie!
:thumbsup2
Ok...that carrot cake cookie? YUM! What's the filling? It looks like cream cheese.

Baylor is such a character! I love the picture of him with the snowman :rotfl2:
Yes it's cream cheese! Baylor was into the camera!
I don't want Lotso near any of my loved ones, either!!! Wonder how many little kids are going to start crying when they see him now!

I think you need a grass skirt for your next Ohana's visit, Shocker.
Ohhhhh, great idea Jackie, I'm getting a grass skirt for our next visit to the Poly!
Can you believe we bought not 1 but 2 Lotsos at full price? Now they are on Disney shopping 2 for $25??? Ugh!!

I think I may be one of the ones crying.
I was all prepared to love the sweet little old Grandpa bear guy.

Could this lead to a fear of bears, like the fear of clowns that is so widespread? :scared1:
Baylor HAD been sleeping with Mr. Pinky Guy every night!
I can't believe I got that close! :cool1:

I also hope you guys have unlimited text!

I love beaches and cream! I'm hoping to get over there again sometime soon!

Sounds like you a great day at DHS! I love all your pics! I love the one of Baylor in the snow! :rotfl2:
Baylor was having a great time!
We do have unlimited text or Shocker would have taken my phone!

I'm not familiar at all with the TS characters but WHY would they make a pink, cuddly, smells like berries bear a bad guy??:confused3

Hope you are enjoying some pool time this weekend! :thumbsup2
Who knows why they do what they do?
I wish he would have done something nice in the end!
The water is COLD, I'm sure Marc will be in...

 Let's hope not! Doesn't it make you wonder if the people who make these decisions for the parks had even seen the movie yet?

I read an article somewhere about it, and the makers said they wanted the irony of this seemingly cute, pink bear being evil. :confused3
He sure was a meanie!
All of a sudden I'm very glad to have had my picture taken with him BEFORE I saw the movie LOL!!!!! :rotfl2:
