Beach Hoppin' With the Wigdout Gang! A super speedy trip report.

We took some time out today to go see TS3. We figured all the big multi-screen complexes would be packed so we chose to go to a smaller one in the Old Town section of Wichita. It also offer meals brought to your seats which Baylor has never experienced.

Baylor chose the 1/2 lb Angus cheeseburger and fries, Wigd had an Angus hot dog, fries, and some sort of Bananas Foster dessert, and I had an order of Cheese Fries. The food arrived right as the movie was starting so it was kind of hard to concentrate on the movie and try to eat without spilling food all over yourself.

As others have mentioned, I do not want to give too many details, but I laughed out loud numerous times and cried many tears.

That sounds interesting. I've never been to a theater like that.

What did you think of the 3D-ness of it? I read where someone else said it was not worth it and they wished they would have seen it the normal way.

The Tony's idea sounds like a good one to me!

Or maybe the top of the train station? There are seats there, as well, and a better and different view. :goodvibes

Congratulations to micandminforever for your grand prize! Can't wait to see what you win! My guess would have been 1112, so I would have been way over. I'm not a good guesser, which is why I don't usually play the games.

We took some time out today to go see TS3. We figured all the big multi-screen complexes would be packed so we chose to go to a smaller one in the Old Town section of Wichita. It also offer meals brought to your seats which Baylor has never experienced. We got there about 30 minutes before the previews started and had to wait in a short line to buy tickets. Baylor was off looking around while Wigd and I waited in line. All of a sudden, a blur of a person ran by me and literally crashed into a wooden door next to the ticket kiosk. His friends immediately rushed over to make sure he was ok. This guy was totally oblivious as to where he was and what had just happened. All of us just gazed at each other in amazement.

That reminds me of one of those birds that crashes into windows!!!

We entered the theater, chose where to sit, decided to move closer to the center in another row, and perused the menu.

How fun!!! I wish we had a movie theater like that around here!

As others have mentioned, I do not want to give too many details, but I laughed out loud numerous times and cried many tears.

::yes::

I took pictures and put then on FB!

That's right -- I remember now! :thumbsup2

Wigd sent and received 861 texts, so the winner is.......

She'll be so excited!!! She left yesterday for her trip to WDW!

Cute Tigger! I want to try the drawing class this summer.
How long is the walk to DHS from BCV or BWV?
Hmmm I may have to see TS3 today.

I don't think the walk is too far, although not as close as Epcot. When we've stayed at Boardwalk we would walk over to Swan and Dolphin dock and ride to the studios. That way you don't have to go to the other stops (Beach club and Boardwalk). On the way back we got off at the Swan and walked over the bridge to the Boardwalk. We always beat the boat back!

MY guys told me that Toy Story was AMAZING! I love that kind of theater -- there is one like that in Bethesda MD that is so fun to go to! Glad you all liked it! I didn't know Cars2 was coming out either!!!

At least I was in the first cut for the text msg contest!!! :rotfl:

Sure seems like this trip was a fun one for you all!

I am enjoying this TR as I get ready to head to WDW TOMORROW Myself :)

:thumbsup2

Sigh. I want to win a contest. :lmao:

Okay....shhhhhh on not wanting Lotso to hug your loved ones! :scared1:

861 texts. Wow! Your contests are such fun! Looks like a great day at DHS!

PS- Wigd... I believe I did say "cruising" earlier... ;)

Carrot Cake Cookie

I haven't seen the movie yet, but now that I know he's a bad guy, I'm wondering why he's gotten so much publicity. I thought he was a good guy - cuddly, good-smelling Grandpa bear.

What about the cute little peas in a pod? Good guys, I hope?

And I saw a cute little unicorn, I think. I might have to get one of those, if so. One of the first stories Jill wrote in school was called 'The Unicron'. The teacher gave them (or had them choose) a sticker, and they had to write a story about it. Hers was a unicorn, which will now forever be in our memories as a unicron, because that's the way she spelled it. I'll have to find that, now that I am traveling down Memory Lane this morning. :lovestruc

Yum for the carrot cake cookie.
I think I got a text at that time.

It definitely wasn't worth the extra money. The previews had LOTS of 3D effects, but the movie not so much.

That's is what I read. I will be happy to see it on the regular screen.

wait.....she won the contest AND she's in WDW right now???? maybe she should play the lottery today!

For real!

Looks like a great DHS day. How was that cookie? It sure looks yummy!

We can't wait to see TS3. I'll be sure to take tissues. I love theaters like that with food but don't go often because of the price!

I'm hoping with Lotso being a bad guy my two won't want to wait in line for a picture!

No doubt! I think now that the movie is out, this won't be a very popular meet & greet! :scared1: He looks so cute and lovable too!

We have a theater here that sells food too, but it's only in the balcony and they also serve adult beverages so kids can't sit up there. Ticket prices are crazy, $18 each, plus the cost of your food and drinks - it's a special treat for us to sit up there, we've only done it a couple of times.

THanks for the review of TS3. Can't wait to try it. We actually haven't been to the Old Town theatre either, but have done the balcony out East. The balcony is a good date night cuddle fest, LOL.

Yeah, I had heard before the release that Lotso isn't all he's sewn up to be!?
:rolleyes1

A freak snowstorm provided some comic relief for Baylor!

The dryer at the villa was not working so Wigd brought some clothes with us to hang out to dry...
