we will be in SoCal in 10 days!!!! WOW!!! it's really almost here!!! Anyway, I would like to take the kids to the beach for an afternoon/early evening, but not sure which one to go to. I figure it will be too cool to swim/get in the water, but we would like to hang out, and maybe have a fire and some dinner on the beach. Which beach will allow this? I know we use to do this when I was a kid, and I loved it, so I thought we might try it with my kids!!! Thanks!!!!:dance3:

You need to go to Huntington Beach.:beach: It's probably the closest one to DL and we just love it there. There are fire rings, volleyball, surfers to watch, and the pier. Along the beach is a walkway called the Strand, where everyone is walking, skating, biking...you name it. On main street, down from the pier is the Sugar Shack which is great for breakfast or lunch. Right by the pier is Dukes a nice place to eat for dinner. The water will be cold, but don't be surprised if there are people still sun bathing and kids wanting to get wet in the water. I don't know how much time you want to spend on sight-seeing, but if this is your first trip to California, I'd want to see some more of it. Especially San Diego and Santa Barbara or Santa Monica, or something well known. If you go over to the boards for Southern California, you might get alot more info helpful for you. Hope this helps a little. Have a lot of fun!!!:dance3:
