Beach days for DisneyWorld stays

I have stayed 2 times at Daytona beach Ocean Walk. I think I paid 119 one time and 139 one time a night for a 1 bedroom deluxe ocean view suit. Spa tub in the room with a king bed and a sofa bed. Our view was priceless. I recc going in the middle, unless it is FD or a package deal.
We stay 4 nights in a studio go to Daytona (they have a 2 night min stay) 2 nights there, there is a lazy river and a splash park all included, then 4 nights in a 1 bedroom. We enjoy real seafood, the beach, joes crab shack in walking dists. (actual a whole boardwalk mall kinda shop place.) There is also a go cart place and water slide place across the street walking dist, (we havent gone the beach and pool too nice.) Though it is not Disney with respect to resorts. (IE pool towel police, and no free coffee.... ugggg) It is not Disney by price either. Free internet, while looking out on the ocean, a maket place with sand toys for sale.

But the view, the lazy river, the beach, the shops, everything else worth double the price. I would do it again in a heart beat. Bring water shoes in case there are jelly fish.

For our family vacation this year DH finally agreed to open the purse strings on our AA miles. He wanted a beach vacation. Ok, so I began to look for beaches within driving distance of WDW. ;)
So we're going to WDW for 3 nights (I'll have to make the most of our arrival & departure days) then picking up an Alamo rental car at the Dolphin and driving over to Treasure Island area of St. Pete Beach.
If you check out the Orlando Hotels forums you'll find lots of info. This is how I chose this area over Cocoa Beach vicinity.
A friend of mine rented a great condo through VRBO.com in the Indian Shores area and loved it. We are using points and have to book through AA.com but I did want a condo type hotel since we're stayed for 6 nights. I found Sunset Vistas and it appears to fit what I need. There were also several positive recommendations for it here on the DIS (because we all know this is where you can learn everything you need to know about everything! :rotfl2:).

HTH! :wizard:
