Beach Day

Any suggestions for a beach day. We have been to Cocoa and like it but thought we would try somewhere new. Daytona, New Smyrna or somewhere close to these? Any thoughts? We have a day trip also planned tot he west side beaches(clearwater) but would love suggestions on that side too.

I would be interested in some feedback on this as well. We are going to Florida in June with only one day at Disney. We are doing a beach day...just don't know where. Cocoa is the one that we have been to also. We have not decided east or west.....so any opinions on either - I would love to hear too!!! Thanks!!

Clearwater Beach, St. Pete Beach, and Ft. DeSoto are all gorgeous beaches on the west coast and about 2 hours from Disney. There are tons of hotels and also independent condo rentals on the Beaches. Lots of restaurants and shops, too. Ft. DeSoto has camping sites and tons of water activities (i.e. you can rent kayaks, etc.), as well as the actual Fort, which is pretty cool. Ft. DeSoto won "best beach" a few years ago. Sarasota is also really nice. Gorgeous beaches, lots of shopping, restaurants, the Ringling Museum. You could easily spend a couple of days exploring Sarasota. It's about 2.5 hours from Disney.

I as well want to put a 1 night beach hotel in the mix. I have stayed at the Daytona Wynd. Ocean Walk and LOVED it but there is a 2 night min and I have no interest in this. Any hotels like this anyone knows of under say 150$ a night. Studio, or 1-bedroom okay.
