Beach Club waitlist

What are the odds of getting a waitlist for July? I have no previous knowledge staying at Beach Club so I'm just curious if there is an overwhelming answer to this or if it's just hit and miss.

You'll know when it comes through. Otherwise, there isn't any way to even guess. It just depends on the public's response to covid right now. Lots of owners/members will be booking BCV just to use Stormalong Bay and not go to the parks.

Depends on what you’re asking for, and mostly it’s random luck at this point. If you’re submitting a request for an entire week, odds are someone submitted that waitlist a long time ago so you would never get it even if someone else cancels exactly the same week. If you’re asking for a single day, or maybe two random days in the middle of the week, you might get lucky and someone happens to cancel somethiing that leaves one spare day (let’s say they cancel a week and 6 days are used to fill a different waitlist) that you asked for).

But you never know. It doesn’t hurt to book your vacation at SSR and submit a waitlist to replace it at BCV just in case you get lucky.

I was able to get BCV once, about 2 years ago. When talking with MS they told me it's just about the most difficult to get because owners like their own resort and book at 11 month window. The only reason we got it, I was told, is that it was off season and only 3 days. If it were longer than that for around the same time we were going to be there, nothing was available. But, you never know. It never hurts to try.

I just put together a 7 night BCV stay for the end of August. Booked night 4 first then added nights 5 and 6 when they came up. Put in a waitlist for nights 1-3 which came through about 2 weeks later. Then added night 7 a few days after that. I would stalk your dates and grab anything that comes available and then adjust your waitlist accordingly. Check a few times a day and late at night. Getting a full week this late in the game via waitlist is possible but unlikely. Before covid I never would have been able to put this trip together so I would say if you ever have a shot piecing together a BCV stay during summer this is the time.

I had 6 nights booked at BCV (home resort) for August....then DD decided we should go the day before. No availability so I booked BWV and waitlisted the one night at BCV. I checked it every morning and a few days ago forgot to check....then lo and behold I got an email with my confirmation!!! So yes the wait list does work!!! Good luck! (this was for a 2br)

Thanks, everyone! Just looking for 3 days as part of a split stay. I realize it's unlikely since it will be July. I put in for it a few days ago so I will just wait and see!

I have been dvc member since 1996 and have never been able to book a entire stay at beach club villas, until now. Then I learned the pool is closed due to covid, and cancelled our reservation, decided to wait a bit, see how this next covid rise plays out. We're moving to the area, so will be able to kinda come and go day by day during this rough time, no parks, just resort.

You never know! Changes are happening all the time. A couple days ago, I cancelled a 10 day stay in a BCV studio for September. That's because I found I had a large number of points I have to use by August first, so I now have a trip in late July. No desire for two "hot weather" trips, thus someone is thrilled with their waitlist coming thru at BCV in September.

I googled, and looked on a couple different boards. I can see where it didn't reopen because of covid, and a revamp of the slide. I can't see where it remains closed. I'd call the resort. I think all the pools at Disney are open now, but I can't find it in writing anywhere.

How do you get on the waitlist? We are staying at BCV Nov 2-7th but have a 1 bedroom and a studio for the 6 of us. I’d much rather have a 2 bedroom to share - more economical. We booked in Feb and 2 bedrooms were already sold out. I literally check daily. I’ve tried David’s with no luck on those dates. How do I get on a waitlist for the 2 bedroom or are there any other sites you’d recommend checking? I’m an agent by the way, and still no luck! Thanks!

I would call MS and ask them to put a note on your reservation that you would like to have the the studio and 1BR connect. That essentially makes it a 2BR lockoff but you pay a higher price in terms of points compared to an actual 2BR lockoff reservation. It's not guaranteed but I did this for a BWV reservation that I had last fall and they were able to accommodate my request.
