I am going to hijack this thread; since it has been dormant for over a year, I figure that's OK!

DW, 17year old DS and I are staying at BCV for Spring Break. It's our first visit ever to BCV after trips to SSR and HHI as DVC members!!! Have a 1 bedroom, and requested top floor Epcot view.

Tell me all about the resort!!!
What will we love and what should we do/see??

I was just wandering how many people on this board are Beach club villas owners. I see alot of BWV and SSR pictures in their signatures but not alot of BCV. For those of who own at the BCV why is it that you bought there and not other resorts?

Favorite thing about BCV, location, location, location!!! Within 5 minutes you can be in WS UK pub drinking a beer or in France sipping champagne!

Great picture, and many thanks for the walking directions. We have similar beverage tastes also! Except I would be with the beer and would probably have to walk another 2 minutes to get to the Germany site! But, some diversity would be good for me!

Cool thread!! I don't know how I missed this one a year ago.

We sold out other points to buy at BCV because we fell in love with the place. We used to own 540, but we sold 150 (gasp!) because we never seemed to use all our points. Now, we are continually in borrow mode, which is probably as it should be!

My dh always teases me that I don't love DVC...I love BCV!! And that's about the truth!!! If BCV were not in the "mix" of resorts, I would probably be mediocre about DVC. We truly love that resort more than we love WDW!!

We are staying at BCV in January and can't wait! Can/should I request a certain location? We are staying in a 2 bedroom.

My family and I are a bag of mixed nuts. Even though WL is probably Dh and mines favorite resort, we purchased our points at BCV's. Never had any regrets and return to our home resort often. All the usual reasons apply to my family. My kids love SAB and Beaches and cream, we love the location and waking up with the Broadwalk bakery a short walk away is heaven.

We routinely stayed at Yacht Club & Beach Club Hotels prior to owning DVC. We said "if they put a DVC at that location, we are buying!" And that is what we did in late 2002 - best decision ever.

BCV just feels like home whenever we visit.

We love the barefoot-in-the-lobby ambience and the proximity to Epcot, where we schedule many of our suppers.

I can't help you much with that. We were very happy with the view overlooking the quiet pool & have requested that area every time! Anyone else?

Is there a "bad" location or view, that you try to avoid?

Hope you don't want a pool view! I requested that a couple years ago, when I got home I realized that the 2 bdrm w/2Q's only have a few pool view rooms.

Our story is almost identical to sheryl0521... we stayed at the Beach Club for years but always said "If they build it we will come..." We think the location is perfect for us. I like walking "home" after Illuminations fireworks!

We purchased in May of 2002 and have never had a regret.

We did not research into DVC the way we should have when we bought. They were selling BCVs at the time, so we bought it without really thinking about it. Later on we realized we were SO LUCKY because we fell in love with BCVs! It is our favorite (with BWVs a close second).

We saw Samantha Brown's Great Hotel episode from Beach Club before we ever stayed there (after we bought) and we were so excited. We still love to watch it when they show it on the Travel Channel.

We really lucked out when we bought. I don't think we would have enjoyed SSR as much (although we are giving it a try in the spring since we haven't stayed there). We mainly like BCVs because we can walk to Epcot and MGM (unless we are really tired, then we take the boat). We also love Beaches and Cream and the kids love the pool. Walking around the Boardwalk at night is so nice.

I can't wait for our next trip in July 2008. I hope Lilo and Stitch are still visiting in the afternoon and they are having movies by the pool. They didn't have this when we were there last time.

We have a dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 Queen beds reserved for our trip, and this will be our first time out of a studio (but we are taking extended family with us), so I can't wait to see what these are like.
