Hi all-looking to spend a week at BLT next year and a week at either BCV or the boardwalk.
Can anybody give me advise on which resort they would choose and why, also is there any parts of these resorts that are better to stay in than others.
Travelling with 3 kids so pool and kids amenities will be important too.
Many thanks in advance
Dave

Personally we prefer BCV - we own there so we would! But in all honesty, we like the theming of them better and the position as well.

I would def go for the Beach Club, we stayed there last year and the pool is fantastic, its like having a waterpark at your hotel. :goodvibes

I faced the same dilemma and ended up going with the BCV too!!

I would really love to stay at the Boardwalk, but know that I would only really be happy with a boardwalk view, which means more money/points. So I will save that for next time!!:lmao:

Plus for the pool - I understand SAB is the best pool on property - so I'm sure you've made the right choice!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We stayed at both in May this year.

Boardwalk - nice location - can walk to MGM. We had a pool view which also gave us a view of fantasmic. Staff were not all that friendly to be honest. Didnt get the "welcome home" when we checked in and had a few other issues where i felt the staff couldnt really be bothered. They were not rude ...just not as polite as most disney staff. Our room was also in need of a bit of a refurb - 2 cupboard doors broken, 1 draw broken and when we arrived there light fitting was hanging down from the ceiling.

Beach Club - much prefered the Beach Club. Recently refurbed so rooms were great. Pool in excellent. Staff were so much more friendly and helpful - couldnt do enough for you. Plus i prefer the location as its great to be able to walk to/from epcot!

We stayed at the Boardwalk in 2006 and had similar experiences to Laura, the room for the price was very dissapointing with most of the furniture shabby.
I have heard others say the same of Beach Club, so you could argue you may need a bit of luck with your room allocation.

Another negative for BWV was the very long walk from the car park to the room, in our case anyway, it felt like miles away.

Certainly location wise you are in an excellent position, I would probably sway towards BCV because I think the main pool is nicer, and if the rooms have had a re-fit then that's a plus point too.
You can also make the most of the facilities at both resorts, bar the swimming pool.

I would choose BCV. As you can see from my signature, we kind of like it there! The Stormalong Bay pool is awsome, and I love how relaxing the villas are there. We usually ask for a room overlooking the quiet pool which we find nice and relaxing.

Well there is only one answer really 'the pool', which is the main reason why everyone wants to stay at Beach Club. Because of its popularity it can be very difficult to get a booking, we managed to stay there for 4 nights in May , it was the 1st time we could get a booking in 5 years, as for location & standard of rooms I would say they are identical, great for Epcot & Studios + Downtown Disney is only a 5 min drive. One idea is maybe you could get a split week staying 2 or 3 days in each, you would get the feel of both.

we much prefer the pool at the beach club...
in fact my kids wouldn't even swim in the pool at the boardwalk, while they usually spend hours in the pool at the beach club....
so for that reason alone, i would go with the beach club

not trying to confuse you - but just wanted to add that the Boardwalk is currently having a refurb on its rooms (due to be completed in Jan) so don't let that necessarily be a deciding factor.

Although having said that I would still opt for the BCV, unless I could get a boardwalk view and then that might win out for me!!

Not much help at all really am I??!!:lmao:

:)

You make a good point though, it would be nice if you can somehow know in advance which resort was offering the better and more recent refurbished room.
As long as the ESPN club is there that's the main thing.
