We had a wonderful stay at BCV this week. As I reported before, we used online checkin and were quite pleased. Plan to always use it in the future as long as it continues to work so well.

As of Friday, the only part of SAB that was closed was the sandy area.

Our villa had new fabric on the banquette. For want of a better description I'll say it was sort of like a tweed. I thought it was attractive and hopefully it will not stain like the plaid did.

The lower numbered rooms on the 4th floor were closed this week. I think the sign said closed 3/1-3/7. The main elevators could not stop at the 4th floor.

When did the burgers at Hurricane Hannah's become so good? We ordered from there yesterday and they were at least the equal of B&C. The buns were buttered and then I think grilled. Very good. Rosemene took my order and I appreciated that she asked if we wanted to use deluxe credits. Good job.

As always, Vanessa in BC Marketplace was her friendly, helpful self. Always good to see her and Art.

I finally met TeenaS although I was hurrying to meet my DH with the room keys so didn't have time to chat. Hi Teena!:flower3:

We've moved on to AKV now.

Sounds like you had a great stay at BCV, I'm sad that we won't be staying there this year but I'm sure it will be on our list for next year :thumbsup2 Enjoy ALV

Glad you had a great stay! I really loved BCV and want to stay there again.

Hi! Glad you enjoyed it, I have never been, and we are staying at BCV for Christmas 09... Is there a BCV thread on the DISBoards? I am looking...

Are they renovating the villas?

Glad you had a great time. I am looking forward to our stays there in Sept and Dec 09

I read recently that they changed the burgers at Hurricane Hannah's to be Beaches & Cream burgers. We're looking forward to trying them in a few weeks!

Glad you had a wonderful stay - we can't wait to be back there! :goodvibes

burgers are soo good now by pool because they come from B&C!! glad to hear u had a great time!

I love the food @ Hurricane Hannah's , I find the quality to be much better than any in the parks, for "fast food", using counter service credit on DDP.

Glad you had a great time, we are going for our first BCV the 22-31st after staying at DWL the 17th-22:goodvibes

We got young kids and they would love the zero entry sandy area and I soooooo hope it will be open when we get there:wizard:

Glad you had another great stay; I always appreciate your accurate information on BCV. We have 3 days at BCV (first time in a 2BR) in June as part of a GG after the beginning part at OKW in a GV. I do not think I will “get away” without at least part of each visit at BCV, my youngest DS just would not stand for it!

Glad you had a good time. Did you notice what flavors of gelato they're serving these days? Also, do you know if they're still doing the movies on the beach?

We got back last weekend.

They were still running movies every night on the beach.
The "gelato" was normal ice cream in normal ice cream flavors.

We actually had room 425. They were refurbing down the hall our week. It was nice because the amount of traffic up and down the hall was very little and we had the first room. Sounds like they are doing the rest of the rooms this past week.

It looks like BCV is about the only place you won't be staying this year, TinkTatoo! Thanks for the good wishes.

A BCV fan thread? I've never seen one.

Yes, the villas are having a soft rehab. Same designs but new carpets, paint, upholstery, etc.. We were in a unit in January that I thought had been rehabbed but the banquette in that one was the old design. :confused3 In this villa, that was the only visible change but the paint and carpets seemed quite fresh.

A few years ago, Y&BC was advertising that the burgers were going to be just like B&C. The burgers themselves might have been but the bun was not. It was nothing special. Now it's great. Fries are served with it too. The last time we ordered there, that was not an option.

I hadn't noticed that on Allears. HH had pretty much been off our list. It is back on now!

They don't literally come from B&C. They're prepared at HH and quickly I might add. The lines were long due to some conventioneers but moved very quickly. I got our order faster than at B&C. This is a great option now for burgers in the villa. Five or 6 years ago, B&C stopped doing takeout...we've missed that.

Yes, it would be a great choice for a QS meal.

I hope it's open for your little ones too. If not, the beach is right there and open. Have a wonderful stay.

A GV in OKW!! Lucky you. Have fun at both and thanks for the kind words.

Sorry, our daughter is our big gelato fan and she was not with us this trip. Are you going soon?

The movies are still nightly. The weather was so cold early in the week that the movie was shown in the Solarium at least one night that I noticed.

Seriously, it was ice cream not gelato??? Say it isn't so.

Did you have a nice stay?

Thanks for the good wishes, everyone else.

We rented a pontoon boat at DTD yesterday and cruised up to POR and then back down and over to OKW. We'd never rented over there before and it was very relaxing. Great fun to see the THV. The ones closest to DTD look the farthest along with lights on, etc.. But all appear to be structurally complete....at least those that can be seen from the canal.

Both the wife and I are pretty sure it is just ice cream. I watched the woman behind the counter struggle to scoop it out. Gelato is much softer and creamier.

It was a nice stay. The room was in decent condition. It was a handicapped room, so we had to deal with the changes that that brought.

Our one room service was ok. And we were there 8 nights, which meant we got our towel service our last full day which made zero sense to me. Our towels got used one time.

The weather was perfect. Mid 70s with no rain. We managed to miss all of our buses, which makes up for our trip last year where we only waited 5 minutes for a bus. :lmao: Lots of people... like lots... We only got on the RnR onece. :guilty: How is it this week?

Hope you have fun! We are waitlisted for AKV concierge this fall. If we don't get that, we will probably be cruising.

With the sandy area closed, has this had a big impact on the seating available around the rest of the pool? We are arriving at BCV on Friday and DW is concerned she will have to compete for a lounge chair.

I met the manager of the Market Place in The Beach Club and he told me he manages the Market Place, Hurricane Hannahs and B&C so three weeks ago when I asked him if they could serve burgers at the Market Place he just smiled and said they were making changes!!!

We're at BCV right now and are having a wonderful stay. Loved the online check in. There were probably 20 people in line, but I was taken right over to a window and was able to pick up my member packet and keys--it took all of about a minute. The villa was immaculate on check in; obviously the carpet has been replaced and the unit looks like it was newly painted. Plaid fabric still on the banquette.

DH says gelato or ice cream, he has to have it every night. Flavors are cookies and cream, lemon, raspberry, chocolate and mango. :thumbsup2

Rasberry sounds awesome! I wonder if I should have that next time, or maybe I should just try them all and then decide which I like best. Although every month there could be flavor changes. One December I went and they had Eggnog flavor. Rumor reaches me that someone got Watermelon once, but I'm going in October, and I doubt they'd have it then.

I'm glad you enjoyed your BCV stay. We're staying in BCV in May with the young ones coming on Sunday, DH and I on Tuesday night, and finally DSis and DF coming on Wednesday. With the F&G going on, I'm hoping to get a program with times of lady bug releases so the DGC can have some F&G specific fun. It's the right location for that sort of thing.

Hi,

I just booked a 4 night stay for mid-July for myself and DD9 (who desperately wanted to do a mother/daughter trip for the first time -- gotta love it!) at the BCV (studio).

I would love any advice that you have for a first timer!

I do have one question -- is it feasible to take a cab to the front of Epcot so we could be at that end of the park for opening? I would really like to be at that end of the park for rope drop (and to get to Soarin' asap)?

Also--what time do the movies start?

Thanks for all of the help!
