Your resort ROCKS!!

We had some extra time this Dec so we decided to split between BCV and VWL (simply cannot go to WDW in Dec and not stay at VWL!). We booked a studio (we are 1 BR snobs, but didn't want to spend the points for a 1 BR over the weekend).

We had a beautiful location looking out over the Illuminations fireworks every night. We even got a sneak peak at the NYE fireworks on night at 11:30. How cool is that?? We loved being able to walk over to Epcot.

We survived the studio. I guess having such a lovely resort and a great view every night we could have slept on cots!

One tiny complaint. We got a HA room. It had a tub, but absolutely NO storage in the bathroom. And very limited storage in the room. What is that all about?? I find it hard to believe that anyone would design a bathroom like that. We got the luggage rack and set the ironing board up to put our stuff on. I really think that they need to have some type of rolling cart or something for these rooms. I cannot imagine what families do in this situation! We had more storage space for our clothes and luggage in our cabin on our cruise for pity sake!

Sorry, I digress. We really loved the resort and hope to stay there again.

Happy New Year!

Excellent idea. I will keep that in mind if we get stuck with a HC room again. We had one before and did not like it for the same "space" reasons.

Glad you had a great trip!!

Nice to hear you liked it. We own BCV/VWL for similar reasons. :wizard:

We love our 'home' too! Glad you liked it. Only onlyy complaint is that Beaches & Cream is too small! We love that place, but it is always so busy! Other than that, we just love it there!

I'm really glad you enjoyed your stay! Yes, it does rock! What room did you stay in? Great tip about the ironing board. Did you have any gelato? That's one of my favorite parts of staying there.

I don't usually get into room numbers because of all the hoopla surrouning them. I read on another post about the HA rooms at BCV being able to request a small plastic table like the one on the patio. I thought that was a good idea (too bad I didn't know about that prior to the trip).

No, we didn't get any gelato. Hopefully we will stay there again soon and will partake!

We've had single night stays in two HC studios with the setup you describe. I agree with your points about storage. Good idea about a rolling cart.

But the views of Illuminations from those rooms is great! I believe the HC studios are stacked and all on that side have a great view.

Glad you enjoyed BCV. We love it too.

We also had a HC studio at VWL on our very first DVC trip. We used the top of the ice chest for storage. That was really our only issue. But, we've now decided that we'll try to have 1 bdrms from now on. Got to have the king size bed! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I forgot to mention the bed! So low.... and neither my husband nor I are short! That mattress was all over the place.

We don't own at BCV so we are happy not to receive the "absolute best" room!

Hi Muushka!
Glad to hear you enjoyed the resort---even though it was too cold to use its best asset, the big pool. How did you like your cruise? I was on the boat with you. Loved getting the little surprises and treats almost every night. We also made it to the member mixer for a bit the Thurs. before, but didn't get a chance to meet you---maybe next time. I did find one DISer, and boy, we sure looked silly asking several other people wearing lime green if they were one of us! None of them were.

I'm glad to read about how much you enjoyed BCV, and how you managed to get some shelf space, are you an engineer?

We enjoy BCV especially in May for Epcot's Flower show, and if it means paying weekend rates, we do it!

Hi Dis-happy

We loved our cruise! I must say that we were both very apprehensive about cruising again because the one we did last year had more than adverse weather conditions. We just wanted to take a cruise that was so awesome that we would not run off the ship and practically kiss the ground (like we did last March '04). And that Christmas cruise more than fit the bill. We could have stayed on that ship another week!

I agree about the surprises, but the lithograph was so special. A total surprise-unexpected and much appreciated. Did you catch that guy Daryl Lockhart-piano player/singer? He was so good we caught several of his shows. We got to do Palo for dinner and Christmas day brunch. Again, awesome.

There were a lot of people wearing lime green on that cruise. I am glad I didn't ask anyone if they were members of this board!

Glad you enjoyed the cruise also. Happy New Year

PS bobbiwoz, no, not an engineer, just creative!

I am glad you had a great stay. I def. agree with you about no space in the bathroom in HA rooms. We stayed in a HA studio in August and DH also came up with the idea of using the ironing board. It was the only think we could think of, too. My dh did call down to the front desk to ask if they had anything we could use and they said they would call back, but when they never did, we had to figure out our own solution. It is a shame they did not arrange for any vanity space in these rooms, poor planning, IMHO. As I posted before when we returned from our trip, everyone needs some place to put "toiletries".

I am glad you enjoyed your stay at the BCV. Thanks for posting.

We also had a HA room last fall. However, we did not realize it at first since there was a tub. I guess we are not the brightest !! The strange thing was our friends had had the exact same room years ago and thought that all BCV rooms were designed that way !! They've never stayed there again because of it !!None of us clued in until the vast amount of grab bars started to sink in. Suddenly the two peep holes in the door made sense.

We called down to the front desk. We had checked in quite early in the day and no one at check in let us know it was HA. They were training new CM's and a few other mistakes were made. Though we weren't angry...just confused....they were very nice and moved us to another room. This room was much better. Still not the wonderful storage space of BWV, but much more practical. So glad we asked because the resort is wonderful and I really hope we can manage to return again.
