Beach Club Villas booked up?

I convinced my husband that a split stay between BCV and OKW would be great for our early May 2020 trip. The easy walk to Epcot may have been an influencing factor. Ideally, I’d like to stay in a 1 bedroom villa...but they’re already booked out. Is that common? I know its a popular resort but I was definitely surprised to see that.

I booked a deluxe room as a backup at Beach Club resort but I’m holding out hope. Do you think the villas might open up?

Since they have opened I have only been able to get a villa there twice at 7 months. May is during the Flower Fest and it is a bit more difficult.

The vast majority of DVC resorts is owned by DVC members and not Disney. Disney owns about 1% of each resort. A certain number are withheld in case of maintenance needs. Owners get first crack at their home resorts at 11-7 months (May is 10 months away). Only a small number are available for the general public to book this far in advance with some being released as owners trade out into ABD or DCL.

So really, they’re not booked up so much as they have not been released for Disney’s CRO to use. Check back a few months from now or consider renting from a BCV owner if you want to secure a reservation now.

Disney retains, by Florida Statue, only about 2% of the total resort. As @Marionnette stated, the entire resort may not yet be booked, but the small %age Disney owns

I didn't realize how little inventory was available to Disney outside of DVC. I was just surprised to see availability at the other DVC properties but not this one. I will check the site again in a month or two to see if anything pops up.

I'm also hanging out in the DVC rental section to see if I can snag one that way.

At 60 days out, any unbooked DVC inventory is turned over to Disney Reservation Center to sell for cash reservations. So if you don't find what you want before March, check again and see if anything is available for cash reservations.
