Ok, sorry it took so long to get this down on paper but we followed up our BCV visit with a Disney Cruise and THEN had 11 of my in-laws visit for 10 days the day we returned. Needless to say, Im exhausted! But here it goes:
DAY ONE
We arrived at BCV around 1200 on Saturday planning on dropping off our luggage and visiting Animal Kingdom for the afternoon. That was until we discovered our room was ready! Of course, the plans immediately changed to allow for unpacking and a nap. I was really tired from the drive down from Virginia.
The room was a roadside one bedroom on the fourth deck. It was clean without any visible problems. My wife is very particular about cleanliness and the room passed her close scrutiny with flying colors. I was a little apprehensive that we would find problems based on what I read on this board but I was pleased that we had a clean room.
Anyway, by the time we finished napping and unpacking, it was around 1530 and we decided not to waste our tickets for a couple of hours at the park. So we skipped Animal Kingdom and proceeded to the dinner portion of our plans, Rain Forest Café at Animal Kingdom.
They sat us in the Gorilla room right next to the aquarium. Beautiful view of the fish. Best seats in the house according to the hostess. So ask for those seats if possible. Also, this was our first time using the Q&C/Kingdom lunch vouchers. Let me tell you that they are everything they are advertised to be! We paid for three ($72) and ate enough food for six people even though there was only four of us! About $150 worth of food. It was downright embarrassing when they started wheeling out all the food we ordered. The large group of people next to us just kept staring at our table. Needless to say, food was good and plentiful. By the way, I way, way, way overestimated the number of vouchers we would need for our trip. So I have about 15 Q&C vouchers and one childs Kingdom voucher left. Anyone wants them for what I paid for them ($12 each), just let me know. (Im not looking to make any money on these)
We followed our dinner with a trip to Downtown Disney. Not my favorite place because my young children beg nonstop for toys until I buy something. The crowds in the stores were definitely smaller than in previous years. We journeyed through the stores several times until we found some suitable toy to appease the girls.
Side note: This was our first experience with the Disney bus system. We always drive. So we were happy when we discovered that the longest we had to wait was 15 minutes anywhere. We always got to sit down and we actually enjoyed the rides. Id say we probably spent the same amount of time riding the bus as if we had driven to these locations looking for parking, waiting for the tram, etc.
We finally got home around 2300 and got the girls ready for bed. The room was comfortable at night with no issues with the ventilation system. I did see the blinking red eye but quickly forgot about it as I drifted off to sleep....
Tomorrows highlights will include MGM and the Brown Derby.
More to follow.
