We are thinking of staying at this property on our next trip. We have stayed at the Villas at Wilderness Lodge in the past. How does this place compare? Are there any bad views? Is the place quiet? Are the rooms the same size as the Wilderness Villas (1 bedroom)?

If you are looking for a view, BCV isn't the place for you. Many of the rooms face the woods.

The villas are relatively quiet, until Illuminations begins. You are only a few hundred yards from where those fireworks are being launched, so expect quite a few booms during the time period.

As far as room size comparision, from literature I've read I believe there is only a 1 sq foot difference between the 1BRs at both resorts....

The views from the villas are not as special as some of the other resorts-I think the villas facing the trees are probably the nicest. We found the resort to be very quiet-we were there in August-on a top floor-and rarely heard anyone else. What I enjoyed was sitting on a lounge chair at SAB and looking at the lake across to the Boardwalk! That was wonderful! We were in a 2BR, but I believe the 1BR would be the same as the VWL-the room sizes are in our planning guides or on the website. I'm sure you will love the BCV-the staff is great, the location convenient and SAB!

Pool view isn't bad, but it's not SAB view; it will be Dunes Cove pool.

Rooms are very similar in layout, only real differences are the color schemes.

Like VWL, the BCV is a very quiet place to stay.

Actually a view of quiet woods would be perfect. I would hate a view of SAB or the lake at this resort (too much noise for us). We faced the woods at WLV and it was awesome.

From Google Earth, it looks like some of the rooms may face an "employee only" street.

There aren't any SAB or lake views from BCV. The road you see runs from Vista Way near Fantasia Gardens Minature Golf Course and the Swan over to the Boardwalk and the Hess Station again to Vista Way (it's a big U shape). The water way to Epcot runs over the road between the BCV and the BWI. Anyone can use this road and we do often to avoid some of the lights on both Vista Way and near the S/D. The buses will take this road if they pick up at all the Epcot resorts.

You asked how the resorts compare. I don't think BCV's atmosphere compares favorably at all to VWL's. When I go to BCV, it's for the SAB and the convenience to Epcot and DHS. We just returned from VWL, and that place gives me a sense of peace that I get no where else on property. At BCV, when you go and look across the water, you see the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk, as you look across the water of Bay Lake, you see undeveloped beauty.

We have brought our DGC to VWL 3 times, and this time they were old enough to enjoy some of the kids' activities. They made bear masks and decorated a cookie and had fun doing those things. There may have that sort of activity at the BCV as well. Both BCV and VWL do have their share of bunnies and ducks, but perhaps VWL has more and the little lizards as well. There is a canal at BCV where you can see lots of fish and turtles, once in awhile there is an alligator in it. I've seen snakes at both places.

VWL's villas are darker, BCV's are lighter. Both are very well themed and lovely to stay at. VWL's have all 2Q's in the second bedroom of dedicated 2 bedrooms, BCV only has 25 dedicated 2 bedrooms with 2Q's the other dedicated 2 bedrooms there have 1 Q and a sofa bed. Our next 2 family visits will be at BCV, I think it's time for our family to branch out. However, DH and I both like VWL the best.

We've stayed at both (BCV the most recent). Our view at BCV was a road & we were quite disappointed, but knew it was a possibility :confused3

The rooms at BCV were a lot brighter, but the size was very similar.

That "employee only" street is a pretty busy road, which can be noisy if the balcony door is open on a lower floor facing it. You will love parking at BCV if you have a car.

As mentioned there are no premium views. We've had rooms where we could see Epcot and its fireworks (the high ones), although soaring has blocked some of the future world views.

If you don't want to risk facing the road, I would request a pool view. It is a fairly quiet pool & much better than the busy road ;)
Okay so if I don't want bottom floor....and a Pool view....I should probably put which one is most important?

If you haven't been to this web site yet, you might find it helpful...

It was made by DISer Diszip. You can see for yourself some of the room views.

As others have said the views at BCV aren't the greatest. You have the quiet pool/canal view, the courtyard view (view of BC), the 'Epcot view' (which has a view of Epcot Resorts Blvd) and the woods view.

I agree with Bobbi. You don't have the same sense of peace that you do at VWL. BCV is tucked away behind BC creating sort of a privateness or quietness to it, but not the same sense of peace. However its location and pool (SAB) can't be beat.

We love BCV, and normally stay there. We have never had a woods view room, only pool view, which I prefer.

Ok I'll bite just like a crossword puzzle you can't figure out the answer too? SAB ????? :rotfl2:

i recently stayed at BCV. room great. SAB excellent. View SUCKED and i was totally disappointed since it was on the first floor, which meant that our balcony (if thats what you would call it) was in the bushes) but who even cared? Not my DD or sister since they were in the pool for a wooping 11hrs.

CRAZY:thumbsup2

I did use the correct vowel. ;)
SAB = Storm-along Bay = The name of the main pool at BC/YC/BCV. It's a nice pool, so many refer to it by name or acronym. FYI, the quiet pool at BCV is called the Dunes Cove Pool.
