I am checking in on July 26th, two bedroom, two bath/dedicated
I have never stayed at this property before

Please give me any information, that I should need, to make my stay more enjoyable. I am looking for information, you cannot find in a BIRNBAUMS BOOK or DVC GUIDE BOOK.

Stormalong Bay? do they provide floation devices, etc

Any other advice, about anything related to BCV is appreciated, never stayed there before.

THank you.

We just got back from BCV's tonight. It was our first stay there, so I'm sure there are others here who can provide more experienced info. But we definitely liked it. We stayed in a studio that faced the pool which was quite nice. We really liked being able to walk to MGM, Epcot, and Fantasia Gardens.

Stormalong Bay was great. The only access appears to be from the building side of the pool area, there was a CM who was putting wristbands on everyone as they walked in. There's a little path that goes from the pool out to the walkway by the lake that takes to to the stairs for hte slide. As for flotation devices, I think you can by swimmies in the store, but I didn't see any flotation devices 'provided' persay.

Beaches and Cream was good, VERY crowded though. The clambake at Cape May Cafe was also really good. We found that we liked the breakfast buffet at the Yacht Club Galley better than the Character Breakfast at Cape May Cafe, we have no kids and enjoy having a nice quiet breakfast and they had a good selection and service.

You will love BCV! We have stayed there twice, once in a studio and once in a 1 BR. You will be spoiled with all the room on your 2 BR :).

Every Disney resort main pool, including Stormalong Bay, provides free yellow PFD II Life Vests for children. Just go to the rental window in SAB to check one out for your stay. Your child will be able to use it in all the pools, but not down the big slide or in the hot tubs. You can also bring/buy pool noodles. We adults really enjoyed using ours to paddle from one end of the huge pool to the other. They were also nice to hang onto to in the very deep end (over 6 feet deep!) which has a strong current like a lazy river.

Other hints:
  • I would recommend that you bring/buy laundry detergent and dryer sheets since the initial amount is not enough.
  • Bring extra soap and or shampoo for the same reason. I don't like the Mickey shampoo so I always bring my own even when staying in a regular resort.
  • Bring coffee and Mr. Coffee type basket filters if you drink the stuff. We pick up a bag of ground Starbucks on our grocery run.
  • Don't bother with refillable mugs unless you plan on hanging out at the pool a lot. There were many times I wanted to refill my mug, but passed on it because Beaches and Cream was very crowded. The pool bar is not as crowded, but it has limited hours. I never found somewhere to fill my mug with coffee in the morning :(.
  • Don't put bubble bath in the jacuzzi ;). BTDT.

Thank you both for your replies, really apprciated

do you know by any chance, if 3 tv sets in 2 bedroom, dedicated?

silly?

do you remember, if you had HBO?

and if SO, do you remember if R, rated movies, were filtered out.

There are 3 TVs, one in the LR and one in each BR. The TV in the LR has a DVD player attached. I don't remember HBO. We usually watched the DVC/Disney channels :).

Hope you have a great stay at the BCV!!!

I don't remember seeing HBO the Disney TVs. They have a lot of Disney channels, but I think the pay-type channels they don't carry. My DH is just happy they don't have QVC ;-)

SAB is great for kids of all ages. I think there are two entrances off the walkway by the lake, unless they close one or both during the busy summer.
