Hi,

We just received the most incredible upgrade at the BC! :cool1: When we opened our door to the room, spread out in front of us was the most wonderful full water view you can get at the BC!!! We faced the Boardwalk with Epcot to the left and the pool to our right. We were on the fourth floor in the middle room of the row of three rooms at the front of the resort!!!   Whe I saw the room my jaw dropped! I had booked a standard view roo with a full balcony request and had just hoped we wouldn't be facing a dumpster. This was the most wonderful surprise I have ever had in the 7 trips I have made to WDW.

Then while there on the first day at the MK we were in two different groups of people who were given fast passes to six of the rides there! People I have to tell you that things like this just don't happen to me! The following day as we were entering the AK park a women apprached us and offered us fast passes to her remaining dream passes there for all three of us! Truth to be told the parks were so empty that we really only needed passes to Soarin and EE while there, but they were sure nice to have.

Not only that but we had a nice waiter and fast service at the Brown Derby and by the end of the trip my 19 month old DGD was actually kissing the characters who had frightened her the first days. This grandmother was in heaven! :cheer2:

Yes, I have some great pics. I need to get them uploaded from my computer - as soon as I do I will reply with them.

Glad you had such a great trip! Can't wait for pics. I noticed in your signature that you've stayed at the Poly. If you have time, could you do a quick comparison between Poly and BC? We stayed at the Poly 3 weeks ago - loved it- but curious about BC. I'd love to read what you liked best about the BC and if any cons. Thanks in advance.

BC vs Poly? Hmmm. First BC pluses imo - The pool at BC is nicer - bigger, sand bottomed, different kinds of experience through it and it doesn't feel as crowded. BC has hot tubs! There are a lot more retaurants a lot closer as you have not only the BC restaurants, but also the Yacht Club ones. And a very short boat ride takes you to the Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin restaurants. And you can walk to those in Epcot. So eating is good. And the resort is smaller, so you don't have all the walking and I really like the theming. The service is magnificent - the best I have ever experienced at any of the resorts. Negatives? Hard to get to the MK and the entrance of Epcot. No bar. I had to go over to the YC. No others really.

Positives at Poly. Of course the monorail to the other resorts and to the MK - and ease to Epcot. I really do love Konas! Especially breakfast there. The landscaping is magnificent. I love watching the fireworks from the beach - or my balcony if I get lucky - and I did last trip to Poly. Poly's rooms are larger and if you had a renovated room you had a nicer TV, because the BC doesn't have flat screen TVs yet. I love the theming, though my backyard looks a lot like the tropics so it isn't as big a thing for me as it might be for someone else.

I love the Poly and I think after this last trip with a toddler that I prefer the POLY with small kids when you want to spend a lot of time at the MK and when you don't want to have to ride buses when you and or the kids are tired. Coming back from the AK was a loooong trip to the BC. But most of my trips are not with small kids and so then I prefer the BC because I just plain love strolling in Epcot. I really like the MK - a bunch of the rides and Main Street and the Castle, the CP and all the magical things there, but for hanging out - or last minute runs to see illuminations - give me the BC. It is just a personal "where I want to be" kind of thing. I am going to stay at the AKL this December - and will then have to make a decision about where I want to buy a vacation home!!! And it is going to end up being between AKV and BCV - and I may have to end up buying points at both....

Thanks for the info. Sounds like BC is a great resort - its a definite must try. When we get ready to book - I guess we'll just have to decide which one. I love the Poly for all the reasons you mentioned - we spend most of our time in the MK & love the restaurants. Its nice to try new things though. Oh well - I guess we'll see! Thanks again I appreciate it.

Soooooooooooooo jealous! We are coming for the first time on Wednesday and I am dreaming about getting an upgrade! My kids would be so psyched!

Keep your fingers crossed............

PS Bummed about the no bar though!

Thanks for sharing all your magical surprises with us. Nice to hear pixie dust is still out there.

It is kinda funny. You read on thse boards about people getting upgrades, but never expect it to happen to you. So magical a trip!

Marvelous, I am curious though why you consider the lake side of the resort the Front, as you don't approach the rear of the resort when you arrive, you approach the front.

Congrats on the great location. :thumbsup2
