After leaving the Beach Club, we headed down to Miami for a weekend, with my DSD desperate to hit the shops.
The first part of the video shows our journey down to Miami, then a tour of the 'Tresor Tower' suite. (We opted for a suite as it was only marginally more expensive than the two connecting rooms we would otherwise have to have booked.

Day off so time to catch up :goodvibes

I'm really looking forward to seeing Miami as it's something we'd like to do. I think now the boys are 15 and 18 they want to see a bit more of Florida other than the parks. Of course we're going to have to compromise because I need my fix :)

The hotel looks nice and it seems to be the one that a lot of people mention when they visit Miami. Am I right in thinking that you have to pay for parking at the hotel?

Looking forward to more :yay:

Yes, you do have to pay for parking - and there didn't appear to be any self parking at the hotel so the valet parking cost $34 a night! Each room has an IMac, but internet connection costs $12 per day, sun loungers also cost extra and drinks weren't cheap - then again it still all represented value for money compared with many hotels in this country.
We didn't see a great deal of Miami during this trip as we spent Saturday on the beach and the weather was pretty grim on the Sunday. The next video mostly shows the 'duck tour' - if you get the chance and you are interested in the fantastic Art Deco architecture (and good bars, restaurants and clubs), Ocean Drive - a few miles south from the Fontaineblue - is a must.

For the next part of our brief Miami stay we were going to head off down to Ocean Drive and spend some time in the Art Deco region. The weather, however, had different ideas. So, after a short and wet stroll down the Miami Beach shopping drag - Lincoln Road, we joined the 'Duck Tour' for a guided tour of the islands which are home to the rich and famous. The tour guide was very entertaining but the heavens opened again ending in a rather damp experience.

What a shame it was so wet. Where where the blue skies and sunshine that you see all the time on CSI Miami :confused3

The Duck Tour looked good and your kids are so well behaved...... or have you just edited the video :goodvibes

another wonderful video - shame about the weather but it is August. We were in WDW in mid July and were very lucky as it hardly rained.

That particular day in Miami was the only wet day we had in 3 weeks! Apart from the odd afternoon shower the rest of our holiday was bathed in glorious Florida sunshine:)
