Is there a difference in the feel of the Beach Club Resort when staying in a studio villa as opposed to a standard room? I'm not talking room size or housekeeping, but more the overall experience.

Yes

The villa rooms are more casually decorated. They are in a separate building off the back of the resort. Their refresh cycle is longer, so they may be more worn. They will have a queen bed and a full pullout instead of two queen beds.

If you are thinking of renting points for BCV it's important to plan ahead...at least seven months out from your trip. It is a small and popular resort and books quickly.

Thanks for letting me know! I never thought about the refresh cycle being longer. I have always been impressed with how well Disney keeps their hotels in order- better than many 4 star hotels where I've stayed.

Renovations at DVC resorts are paid for through member fees, not by Disney. It keeps costs down by not renovating as often. Plus the occupancy of DVC resorts is higher than the hotels. DVC resorts are expected to be close to 100% occupied at all times.

If I had a choice between a studio and a hotel room, I'd choose the hotel room for the two real beds. If it was between a one bedroom and a hotel room, I'd take the one bedroom for all the extras there including the king sized bed, jacuzzi tub, washer and dryer and full kitchen.
