Beach club standard room v DVC villa

Hi

I’m planning a stay at the beach club with dining plan, 2 adults and two 4 year olds twins for two weeks. We defo want the dining plan

I could do the booking direct with Disney at beach club and get free dining plan or do the DVC studio room and add dining plan on.

Booking direct is a few hundred more all in but I’m just wondering what’s better or what the main differences are

What’s closer to the main pool, what’s nicer and what rooms are bigger if any

Let me know what you would pick
I would 100% pick the regular Beach Club resort room instead of the DVC studio. We stayed in the BC studio in April and I said "never again". The room is more cramped than the resort room when the Murphy bed is down. There aren't any real drawers in the studio. They just have a few very little drawers. The bathroom only has a single sink. We were not pleased at all.

The regular Beach Club room is more luxurious. There are two sinks in the bathroom, a large closet, a dresser with real drawers, and more floor space. It is a much nicer room. :)

Oh really. I never knew that

So even if it was around 1000 dollars more for the two weeks. You would say it’s worth that?

Would be renting

Start of Dec 2025 so would try book right at 11 months
You are price comparing a theoretical deal at theoretical hotel prices. That’s no good. You aren’t gonna know your numbers until they come out and, just because a deal is available this year does not mean it will be available next year so you’ve jumped the gun as far as price comparison goes. Compare the amenities and rooms but don’t waste your time on theoreticals.

Read up on SAB. The consistent complaint about SAB is that’s it’s hard to keep track of young kids.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned is that you will have 2 adults and 2 4 year olds. In the DVC Studio you will need to pull the murphy down for them every night (comfortable to sleep on, but having to do that for 14 nights would get old I think). If you are in a regular Beach Club Resort room then you would automatically get 2 beds and it appears also have a couch for sitting.

I’m looking at the price difference between the two for this December

Yeah it sounds like the rooms are better/ nicer in the standard rooms and daily housekeeping

Starting to think even if it’s 1000 more this could be a better option

To answer your question about availability- the answer is YES - yes it can be difficult to secure a DVC studio at BC in December…even at the 11 month mark…you’d need a diligent owner to book for you.

We've tried renting BCV early through David's, even at not high times of year, and have not had any luck. We've been in BC regular rooms that were a loooong hike from the lobby (and hence the pool) and ones that were very close but in general, I'd say that they will be closer than BCV. BCV is, however, closer to the path to EPCOT than most regular rooms and it makes it a very short walk. There is also a quiet pool right out front of the BCV rooms. I also think that the regular rooms are larger than a studio in BCV; makes no difference if there's only two people but if there are more, I think a regular room is probably more comfortable.

Ah! Makes more sense. I thought you were trying to compare 2024 prices and offers to 2025 LOL. You should probably go back and fix that detail that the trip is for this year.

ETA- wait, but book 11 months out? If this trip is 2025 my point stands. You are dealing in fanciful numbers and offers for next year by applying this years numbers and offers to them. You can compare properties and amenities but not prices.

That's a whole different matter. If it was always about money then everyone would book a value resort. ;)

There are often discounts for the month of December than could make the BC room cheaper than the DVC.

DVC owner here, really, it doesn't matter what room you like better. You'd need a Christmas miracle to make that rental happen. It's not just hard, it's extremely unlikely. I would give you less than 1% chance of getting what you want. The rental company could get you something, meaning probably a room at Saratoga or Old Key West, but your first choice, will be unlikely. If you want to stay at beach club for this trip, just go through Disney.

This December - as in 2024? Then forget it, those DVC studios were booked back in January 2024. You may find a confirmed week through an agency, but almost no chance of renting points and having an owner book for you. Not for this December.

I'll just jump in and say if you have your heart set on BC then book directly. The odds of being able to rent a DVC studio december at BC for two weeks is pretty slim. Just being honest. Now if you are willing to stay at another DVC resort you have more options.
Oh right, even if I called the minute it come out 11 months before

So your right it wasn’t available with David’s DVC but it showed how much it would have cost if it was, sounds like two weeks at the start of December is very hard to get though so sounds like I won’t have much a choice anyway lol

Well thanks for your honestly

I was thinking two weeks from 28th November 2025, can I just ask why is this so hard to get if I call the minute it comes out

I have some understanding about DVC but don’t no everything like some of you so just wondering why it would be so hard if I call the second it hits 11 months

If you are planning on December of 2025, be in contact with either an owner or agency at least a week before the start of the 11 month mark. You can't call DVC to rent, it has to be an owner who makes any reservations on your behalf. And if you are set on renting, it might be better to find 2 owners to each book half of your stay because of what I and other posters have mentioned. Very few owners are going to be wiling to be up at 8am EST each morning for 7 days to try an add a single night on to your reservation to get to the 14 nights. As we've said, an owner can only book 7 nights initially, if more are needed, it has to be added on day by day.

Yes, they will show you the number of points needed, but it doesn't mean they are available. You will be better off going directly through Disney. And discounts may be released later on this year!

I think the fact that you are comparing BCV room prices and DVC studio prices for 2024 but not going on your trip until 2025 is confusing folks... A rental company might indeed be able to fill your request 11 months out, one week at a time by making two week long reservations for you, but you wont know that until January of 2025. However- the refund situation is much less generous if you would need to cancel. I would be reluctant to risk tying up that much cash in the event I might need to cancel at some point in the coming year.
