Is it worth getting Beach Club resale to get the 11 months priority booking?

Or can you get good times with another home resort with the 7 months booking.

We love BCV.

If you love BCV, you should buy BCV or take your chances and the chances can and do change.

BCV studios, especially, are difficult at 7 months for many months of the year, and the trend there is only getting worse.

Unless you want 1 beds, Jan to early September, at which point there is no need to buy anywhere, then if you have to stop there buy there. If however you do fit into the first category save your money and buy a cheaper resort with longer life.

I agree with Bill. If you really want to stay there, then buy there. It is small(er), and beloved.

You never know, but BCV has is a strong rental demand.

Yes it does appear to be very easy to rent those points out. Let me know if you get tired of holding the contract(s). I'm always happy to help.

:)

We bought resale at BCV because we often go in October, and it is very difficult to book there without the early booking. We stay there about 50% of the time, and have not had issues booking at other places. We have been able to book BLT, AKV, and the Poly right at 7 months for both October and March. I think BWV and GFV are also very difficult, but we have not wanted to stay there.

These are very good summaries of the booking challenges at 11 and 7 months and still quite accurate:

Booking BCV at 7 months is easier if you want a 1 bedroom than a studio, but even the 1 bedrooms go very quickly at 7 months during certain times of the year. Competition to get into the near park resorts is definitely increasing and will continue to do so. Getting more than 2 or 3 consecutive nights at 7 months is often not possible without waitlisting, and even then.......

Lots of other people love BCV, too. That's why BCV contracts are selling for a relatively high price compared to the other 2042 resorts. Those buying the BCV resale contracts are doing so to stay there and they book before the 7 month window opens. If you wouldn't be happy staying elsewhere when you don't get into BCV, buy there and be sure to book at 11 months.

Wow. I just saw a BC resale offer of 25 points at $150 a point. My VGF is looking like a bargain!

Just to nail home a point here.

When BCV was for sale new, people bought it because it was for sale as part of the club.

Now, with 24 yrs left, there are plenty of resorts with further end dates. The people buying BCV now aren’t doing so because it’s part of the club; they’re buying to book BCV.

With every resale closed, BCV becomes less bookable at 7 months. It’s being systemically turned into an 11 month resort by the changing makeup of its ownership.

That will only get worse over time if BCV at 7 months is your goal.

I just upgraded to an IPhone X and the autocorrect is very wonky.

For example, if I don’t manually fix it, this is how it autocorrects “I”: “I️”

When I went back to change hrs to yrs, it autocorrected back to hrs.

Don’t know if it’s the phone or the new iOS, but so far, it’s my only major gripe.

There is a patch that helps with the I.
