Beach Club Pool Hours

Funny, I thought if a sign says pool open for swimming from 7AM to 11PM, that means you can only swim from 7AM to 11PM.

One would think,but evidently not so as we have reports of Security tipping their hat and Lifeguards stating 24/7 is OK.

But it sounds like the Lifeguards and Security are giving complete approval with no effort at all to discourage..

And presumably those people are capable of reading the sign as well, then deciding what they wish to do - follow posted rules or go with verbal advice from someone who isn't present. Their choice. If security needs to clear the pool area, written posted rules will take precedent over "but the lifeguard this afternoon said it would be ok." Again, the hours may be largely unenforced, but they are enforceable.

Yes, they are lax in their rule enforcement and it's to the guests' benefit. The alternative is to lock the gates making the quiet pools inaccessible after hours. I'm not sure what point you are trying to make...

Oh we could def. open the doors at all hours. We had a room facing one of the quiet pools at the Yacht club and there were ppl there many times late into the night/early am. Like I said, the lifeguards were basically advertising that the quiet pools were swim at your own risk and available 24/7.

And another Resort that leaves their Leisure Pools unlocked is CBR so that Guests can access the Laundries AND the Vending Machines for those LATE night snacks!

And they are awesome machines where you can choose multiple items-late night snacks taste so good!lol

The majority of leisure pools don't even have lifeguards. Usually they are just at the feature pools.

At Beach Club we didn’t do any late night swimming at the quiet pool so I didn’t test that policy. However one day they closed the main pool for lightening and I moved to the small pool. A lifeguard came around and announced there was lightening in the area and if we stay it was at our own risk. No one left.

Not sure how that anecdote is relevant except that policies at the small pools are pretty lax.

REALLY lax to allow Guests to stay in the water during Lightning-That's what I call REALLY swimming at your own risk!!!!lol

I'm guessing the point is that while you're saying they're not "encouraging," others, whi are told by Disney's employees that they are open 24/7, probably see that as "encouraging."

I meant the lifeguards at the main pool, who then move to opening doors around the resort when the pool is closed.

I was going to one of the pools at Port Orleans Riverside one morning at 6:00 am. As I entered the fenced in pool area, security came by.
Thinking I was busted, I walked over to the fence as the security gal drove up. I asked if I needed to leave, she said no, as she never saw me and I never saw her.

I quietly swam until 7:30 when a few other adults showed up. I think if you don’t create a disturbance, Disney just looks the other way.

I've seen signs posted at pools when lightning is indicated in the area. No lifeguards, just signs. But I guess some guests don't read well.

Then why post hours-why don't they just put up "Leisure Pools are open 24/7-Swim At Your Own Risk" signs?

Bc some of us are just too risky while others may just be too loud. Are they really rules, or are they just guidelines?
