Beach Club or Yacht Club?

I'm so glad you posted this! The PPs upthread scared me a little as I just booked YC standard at an AP rate YESTERDAY - after reading this thread, I checked again and they put a water view in the AP discount inventory in the meantime, so I upgraded - looking forward to the water view and NOT the dumpster view, LOL!

Oh that's so great! I hope you had a wonderful time and enjoy the room as much as I do!

I’ve booked two “standard view” rooms at YC. One was directly over the dumpsters, and another was over the bus stop and quite noisy. So I won’t do standard view there again. But I’ll pick whichever is cheapest; they’re both beautiful.
Do you by chance know the room number/numbers that have lovely dumpster room?

No. It was 5 years ago. I found my room ready email for the bus stop room.
It was 3176, which is also one of the shared balcony rooms. I looked at some old posts here to try to jog my memory, and I found some other bad views at YC. Maybe BC has bad views too, but I didn’t get them. Though I guess one of my BC rooms (I’ve stayed there twice too) had no balcony (is that better or worse than a dumpster balcony?)

BC has the infamous rooftop view in some of the standard view rooms. I ended up with one in November, but it was significantly mitigated by the fact it was a corner king room with two windows and the other overlooked Stormalong Bay and the boardwalk. I just kept the curtains drawn on the ugly one lol.

We have stayed at both and would prefer Yacht Club (as evidenced in my ticker below). They have the same amenities, but I like the more relaxed feel of Yacht Club at the end of the day. Also, I like that Yacht Club is picked up first by the MK bus, so better chance of getting a seat. :p

The second floor king rooms at BC right above the lobby (2672, 2664, 2662, 2654) are my new “avoid at all costs” rooms. No balcony at all, not even a Juliet one. Obscured view from the sole window, overlooking the valet stand and front driveway. And LOUD...all of the chaos of the BC lobby sounds like it’s right inside your room.

Although, if you’re a heavy sleeper and don’t care about the view/no balcony, it’s a very convenient location and the room is huge so perfect for a couple with a kid in a pack’n’play or one or more ECVs (could fit inside or there’s tons of plugs in alcoves in the hall).

I personally would rather squish into a queen bed with DH than stay in those again, but YMMV.
