Beach Club or Yacht Club?

So after going this summer and last summer with our sons and their girlfriends, and after our first trip ever just the two of us in Jan., DH and I decided that we want our next trip to be just the two of us again. I'm looking at next fall or so we can enjoy Food & Wine festival (we've done before and love), either a Halloween or Christmas party (we've done both each once), the weather will be a bit cooler (though we live in SC so are used to the heat and humidity), and at least a little of the initial Star Wars craziness will die down. We like to try a new resort each trip so I thought either Yacht Club or Beach Club this time to give us close access to Epcot and DHS. We loved being so close to both when we stayed at Boardwalk this year. We will hopefully be able to use the military room discount and get the four day park hopper tickets. Then we'd do a party on another night and probably enjoy resort time during that day.
Does anyone have a preference for either resort? Pros and Cons to share? Hopefully I've provided enough info. to help you help me make a decision.! Thanks for anything you all can share!

We prefer Yacht Club primarily for three reasons: the updated rooms, the almost guaranteed balcony and the generally quieter lobby. That being said, we usually book whichever resort has a better deal, so you can’t go wrong with either resort.

Like the pp, YC would probably be my choice as well. You really can't go wrong with either one as they are both great, but if you are looking for a quieter atmosphere/lobby, newer room, and a balcony, YC would be the best choice. Good luck and happy planning :wizard:.

I much prefer the decor at Beach Club. The rooms are also a bit quieter because they have carpet rather than hard flooring.

If there is a big difference in price I would go with the cheaper one, they are both fantastic resorts and you can't go wrong. As for nitpicky preference, I love the new YC rooms and the full balconies, I also think the lobby at BC tends to get quite loud with Cape May right there. My vote is always for YC these days, especially with no kids. We have also been able to get much better discounts at the YC for the past couple years, although I don't know anything about the military discount so that difference may not apply.

I always go with the better price, we haven't stayed at BC but I don't think you can go wrong with either one.

I am debating the same thing. We love YC for the updated rooms, quieter lobby, and full balconies. I really do want to try to stay at BC at some point, and almost changed our upcoming stay to BC from YC. But, when it comes to paying for a deluxe resort, the YC feels like you get more "deluxe" feel for the money (especially since BC is slightly pricier for our dates). They both feel upscale, but the YC just feels more luxurious in my opinion. But honestly, they are similar enough that I'd just go with whichever one is cheapest.

YC is my favorite resort out of all the deluxes. I really like the location and the clean feeling of the room. If YC is sold out, I would probably stay at BWI or GF. Not at BC, although it's right next door.

Another vote for the YC. It has an elegance, kind of a stately feeling that the Beach Club doesn’t have. We also prefer the dining and lounge options at the YC, but it really is just an esthetic preference on our part.

Both are great. The other thing that no one has mentioned is that if the buses are shared, they pick up and drop off at YC first, which can be important at busy times.
I love the decor at BC better, and that it is closer to EPCOT. Very quick little walk.

Love both, but would pick the Yacht over the Beach. Love the full balconies, the more adult like atmosphere, and a little closer entrance to SAB. But either one is a winner. The pool is amazing and over the top. The slide is actually a bit more intense than what I thought it would be. It is one of the best resort complexes that Disney has to offer and I bet it is one of the best in the entire state of Florida.

We love the Beach Club. It is our favorite resort. I love the decor, friendliness, lobby smell, and just the overall feel of the resort. It definitely has a deluxe feel, but yet is very relaxed and welcoming.

Others will probably disagree with me, but I was not impressed by the YC lobby. I expected it to feel high end and luxurious, but I found the furniture to be worn and the whole thing to feel a bit dated. I liked the rooms better (this was before the refurb). Having said that, I did enjoy the YC and I would go back, but I prefer the aesthetic of the BC and actually think it felt more elegant than the YC. The YC has a major advantage: it is the first bus stop. There were lots of times when it was standing room only by the time it picked up at the BC. I think both resorts are worthwhile,, but overall I prefer the GF and like to be in the MK area.

I prefer YC but always have an easier time finding a military discount on a BC room. Might just be my luck. Both resorts are wonderful, you can’t go wrong!

Another thing to remember is that YC & BC are literally attached to one another, so if you're staying at Beach Club but being at the first bus stop is important to you, it's easy to go to the Yacht Club's bus stop instead of Beach Club's.
