Hello, We are planning a trip to Disney in October with our 2 children ages 6 and almost 2 at time of travel. I was wondering if any had any opinions on these 2 resorst? Or has anyone stayed at both and have a preference? We have previously stayed at Wilderness Lodge which we love but want to try somewhere new since we have 2 kids now. I'm having trouble deciding because my friend tells me Beach Clbu is the best, but everytime we eat at Polynesian I always wish to stay there. We will be staying for 7 nights, but we are driving 10 hours so the more relaxing the resort the better. I'm kind of and Autograph freak at the parks worse than the kids. My husband and I are looking forward to the trip even more than our 6 yr. old daughter. Thanks, Nichole

I would think with 2 young children you'll probably be spending most of your time at Magic Kingdom - so with the Polynesian on the monorail, that would be very easy to get around. I will be staying at the Poly for the first time in May, and have always thought it looked like a great place to stay. The Beach Club looks great, too, but I love the idea of being on the monorail.

The Polynesian is a beautiful and relaxing resort that is EXTREMELY kid friendly! Our kids loved it (so did we)! Being on the monorail was AWESOME, watching the fireworks everynight was great, couldn't say enough good things. Good luck w/ your decision!

I vote for the Poly. The local can't be beat. Ditto the other poster about the monorail and the MK. I have also heard thet SAB can be a nightmare with small children. Very hard to keep them in view. Have never stayed at the Poly but have at the BC and was really not all that impressed. For adults only, the BC may be better due to the Boardwalk and proximity to EPCOT. A lot of nightlife.

We stayed at the Poly and loved it. However, we were seriously considering YC/BC before we made the decision to go Poly -- Very close decision. We had a friend who took her children (1,3,6) and they LOVED YC and the pool. They loved the location, too. And, I think it is less $$$ than the Poly.

For our next trip, I really wanted to try an Epcot resort. But DH, DD and DS didn't want to try anywhere but the Poly.

Good luck with your decision. You won't go wrong either way.

If you have felt that you "always wanted to" stay at Poly, definitely stay there because I think people have emotional reactions/connections to the feel of different resorts and they just fall in love with certain places.

My personal favorite is the BC. Just love the place. I could be happy just hanging out there, not even doing parks. We bought Beach Club Villas DVC for that reason.

I agree that with those age kids, it will be more convenient for you to be at Poly.

I vote for the Poly. We were there in Dec for the first time and fell in love. Being on a monorail resort gave our trip a relaxing factor I wasn't expecting. With DS (8) and DD(4) we really enjoyed the ease of getting around. We were at the BC 2 years ago and while the resort was nice, I didn't find it special in anyway. But we are from Ohio and the whole tropical feel was what I want in a vacation! pirate:

Thank you for your replies! We'll we will be staying at Polynesian in October 2006 from the 8th until the 15th. I also like the tropical feel of the resort when we visited it going to Ohana. Though my DH loves WL. Thanks again
