Beach Club or Boardwalk?

I have a reservation for the Beach Club, but I keep hearing a few negative things about it that may make me want to go to the boardwalk, could someone just offer some insight on these questions?

1. The beach club doesn't offer a quick service breakfast location, is the boardwalk bakery so close that its not a nuissance to go over there and grab breakfast?

2. What is the order of bus pick up/drop off from the magic kingdom?

3. Is the boardwalk "attached" internally? Or do you have to walk outside to access things like the bakery?

Thanks in advance! Also, if you could offer some opinions that would be really helpful also!

You can get a quick breakfast at the Beach Club Marketplace. You can check the menu here.
The Boardwalk bakery is only accessible from outside, on the Boardwalk. It is only a two-minute walk from the resort entrance to the Boardwalk. You can check the menu here.

None of the restaurants and shops on the Boardwalk have inside access.

I cannot remember for sure, but I think the Boardwalk stop is before Beach and Yacht.

I haven't stayed at Beach Club but I have at Boardwalk. I enjoyed it, its a lovely resort however, I think its main pool is a bit small (it felt crowded all the time) and the lack of dining there at the resort is really a negative in my book. Stormalong Bay looks really cool (I hope to stay there and find out myself in June). I would stick with Beach Club, then next time you can try Boardwalk. You probably cannot go wrong but that pool at BC just looks so incredible I would have a hard time switching!

The Boardwalk Bakery is an easy, quick walk from that resort as is the pizza window. They wouldn't either one be a big deal from BC either.

And for what its worth, all the resorts at WDW get their fair share of negative reviews. You could switch and then start seeing negative reviews for your new choice!

I also think the BW stop to MK is before the YC/BC too. But I guess Eeyore's Pal and I could both be wrong!

Good luck with your decision!

I just switched from BWI to Beach Club, Beach Club looks more fun for my DD.

I have stayed at the Beach Club and Boardwalk here are my thoughts:

1. The Beach Club does offer a quick service breakfast with the Beach Club Marketplace here you can get a quick bagel, croissant or egg sandwich. The Boardwalk has the Boardwalk Bakery but in the a.m. the line is usually out the door and you are waiting "OUTSIDE" as oppose to the beach club marketplace where if there is a lin you are indoors. In my opinion I thought it was much easier to get breakfast at the Beach Club as oppose to the Boardwalk (esp if it was raining..you didnt have to worry about going outside)

2. We never found a problem with the buses being crowded only once did we have to stand up. "Most times" the buses stop at Beach and Yacht Club only. The bigger pro about staying at the Beach CLub is that after "wishes at MK" (which is a zoo afterwards leaving) the lines for the Beach/Yacht club bus are the shortest because it only makes two stops.

3. and yes you do have to walk outside of the boardwalk to access anything. the beach club you do not

you didnt ask this but SAB only is worth staying at the beach club for

As others have said you can get breakfast foods at the Beach Club Marketplace. None of the Deluxe resorts has a Food Court type eating spot. Every time we have stayed at the BCV the buses have only been shared by the YC/BC, not with the Boardwalk. One night on one trip we did stop at the S/D. I have never experienced all of the Epcot resorts on one route.
We love it there and I would stay with your reservation.
SAB is wonderful and I think you will love the closeness to IG at Epcot.
Have a Wonderful Trip

Personally I prefer Boardwalk, but Beach Club is very nice. Try both. SAB is one of those things that I thought I would love, but really didn't like so much. There were too many people, I couldn't see the kids, and since it was fenced in SAB's location makes it hard to get around the resort, since you have to walk around it all the time.

I have stayed in both and I prefer the BWI. I booked BC for the pool and location. I didnt like the pool so much it was over crowded and you couldnt find a spot. BW has a nice pool with a slide and it was not as crowded at SAB but that could just be the week we were there. When I walked into BC I was not like WOW I love this place at Boardwalk that is the feeling I got. WOW this place is so nice. Just something about the lobby and the friendliness of the CM's. Again it is just personal opinion. BC is nice and BW is my second favorite resort by a hair to the AKL.

Ditto!:thumbsup2 I thought we'd like SAB also - too crowded and sprawled out! And good point about the "fenced in" - I have a daughter in a wheelchair and found it hard to navigate around the property. We're DVCers at the BWV - absolutely love it there! But for proximity to Epcot & MGM - you can't go wrong with either resort!

We've stayed at both and prefer BWI. I just like the feel of it and the theming. However, you can't go wrong in either place. It's a win/win situation.

We haven't stayed at BC, but loved the BWI 2 years ago. The Boardwalk then shared busses with the Swan & Dophin. We were the last to be picked up and last to drop off. That is my only complaint about the BW. I don't know if they've changed their bus routes since then.

We're just back from our first stay at BC Villas - and we love it there for many reasons already mentioned. But each morning we'd go over to the Boardwalk Bakery for breakfast. Can't beat sitting outside eating those yummy coffee rolls!! And it was a quick and really pretty walk from the BC.

Wherever you choose to stay will no doubt be wonderful :goodvibes

Not true. AKL has the Mara. Definitely what I consider a food court.

Roaring Fork at the WL, Captain Cook's at the Poly, and Gasparilla Grill at the GF (there's one at the Contemporary too but can't remember the name for the life of me right now) aren't food courts per se, but do offer quite a few options as quick service restaurants.

The Epcot deluxes are the only ones who don't have quick service restaurants or food courts inside them at all.

I am in this same quandary. I'm booked at BW, but I keep wanting to change the reservation to BC. Can't get the AAA discount, though, so it will be more expensive. I'm concerned about having to walk outside to get any food at all, and I hate to be that close to SAB without being able to try it!

both are great, you can't go wrong. close your eyes and pick one, you will be happy!

This is funny because I had the exact opposite reaction to our BW stay. I found the layout awkward (having to go outside to even get a newspaper) and the CMs were rude and gave some bad information. We have never had a crowded time at SAB (maybe it's the time of year we travel) and I think the BC Marketplace has an excellent selection of sandwiches and salads. And the gelatto is to die for.

So as you can see you will get lots of different opinions, good luck with your decision.

I've stayed at both and love them. We like the BC a little more though because it's so close to Epcot. Really only a few feet closer, but that means a lot to me. :)

My thoughts too! Except for the Dolphin, which has Picabu (formerly Tubbi's), even more food-court-like than the others!

BC oe BWI? Yes!! Try one, and next time try the other. Don't let "some negative comments" keep you from either one. There are always negative comments, even about world-class luxury hotels.

Boardwalk has a little sundry shop about 15 feet from the villa elevators, right off the lobby, that sells newspapers. Traveling time to a newspaper is an important part of my resort ranking!

But if you don't like the place, you just don't like it.

We've been to both and personally just like the theeming at BC. Add to that the much nicer SAB pool and its hard to beat. There is indeed a quick-service place for breakfast at BC, plus you can easily walk over to BW if there is something there you want to try.
