My husband gets car sick easily in crowded buses. How inconvenient will it be to walk over to Epcot and hop on the monorail when we want to head to MK in order to avoid the bus from the Beach Club?
Thanks :)

We always walk through Epcot to get to the monorail to travel to MK when we stay at the Beach Club. We enjoy the walk through Epcot and prefer taking the monorail over the buses. I can't recall how long it takes to walk to the entrance of Epcot form BC (someone else may be able to provide that info for you) but we never seemed to be bothered by it or felt that the walk was too long. Hope that helps!

Yeah, MK is most always open longer hours than Epcot so it's often not a viable option. When Epcot is open it is but it's a really long walk. You may be wiser to use Uber or Lyft to CR and walk to MK from there or to TTC and monorail

Ok...looks like we will be taking the buses. Are they really as awful, crowded and slow as I've heard? Hoping they have improved since the reviews I read from a few years back.

They are only crowded when the parks open & close. Another option is to take an Uber/Lyft from BC to the Contemporary and walk from there or the TTC and take the monorail.

I would only do what you proposed if you planned to spend the first part of the day in EPCOT. Taking a taxi/uber is not that difficult from the resorts. They will drop you off at the Contemporary, and it is an easy 5 minute walk to MK from there. Also, taking the taxi/uber would save you so much time. Sometimes, it can take us 30+ minutes to get from EPCOT to the MK on the monorail. Not to mention, the walk from your resort to the front of EPCOT takes me normally 20-25 minutes. The taxi/uber way could potentially get you to the MK in 15 minutes instead of an hour.

We usually stay at BC/YC, and can tell you that we are relatively spry (for our mid 30s) and at a good clip, it's probably a 20 min walk from BC to the monorail...then you have to wait for it. Then you have to change monorails and transfer to the MK monorail from the TTC. It's a lot of work.

BC buses can get crowded at open and close, but if your husband wants a seat, make the much shorter walk over to the YC, and grab the bus there. That resort gets picked up before BC, and at the end of the day/evening, get off at YC and walk back. YC gets dropped off first.

We've never waited for a bus longer than about 15 minutes at BC.

We hate the buses and, with uber now on property, we take them almost everywhere (even once from DHS to BWI because the boat line was so long and we didn't want to walk!). As others have said, take uber. It's quick and relatively cheap (about $5 - $7) to get anywhere on property. From BC, you can go to CR and walk or to GF and take the monorail one stop. If you take uber to AK, the drop-off/pick-up spot is pretty close to the entrance (closer than the bus drop-off/pick-up).

Uber definitely sounds like it would be the easiest...and I would happily pay extra to save time. Do people generally take uber with children? I'm not from the US, and not sure how you guys deal with the car seat situation. I'll be with a 4 and 8 year old.

Your 8 yo is fine. The 4 yo will need a solution. If they are big enough for a booster you can purchase a portable booster called a Bubblebum. You can bring it in the car with you and store it at the parks or in a stroller, if you have one. Uber does offer an option with a car seat (not Lyft, only Uber) and it costs extra and usually has a longer wait. If you plan to use it frequently you would be much better off with your own portable seat, provided the child is big enough to use it

I have had more problems on the DME bus than the BC bus - only BC and YC share that bus - except during off times.

We've been on multiple Disney cruises and traveled from MCO to the terminal on the Disney buses. I'm assuming the DME is similar to that bus. Much more concerned about shuttle type buses which are often have multiple stops, and are crowded. There's nothing like breathing in someone else's coffee breath first thing in the am .
We are going to look into the Bubblebum booster, thanks for that recommendation AngiTN.
I really appreciate everyone's help!

The bus will be a lot faster then walking through Epcot to get on the monorail then changing monorails or getting on the ferry at the TTC to get to MK. People exaggerate how bad the buses are, they're usually fine and come fast. If you stay until the park closes there will be long lines for the buses but they send a lot of buses at closing so it's not a terrible wait usually.
