New question for everyone here at the Disboards.

My DW and I are staying at BC Garden View Room, I just noticed I can get a Lagoon View Room for about $95 extra for the 4 nights we are staying.

I know this would be a no-brainer if we are just talking about cost, but I'm worried, if we get Pool view, it may be very noisy, especially since we want to use our Balcony at night.

When I did my requests (I know they are not guaranteed) I asked for FULL Balcony, Upper Floor. If I Did take the Pool/Lagoon view and added Lagoon view to my request, I feel there would be too many request and they might only give me the Full Balcony, which at this point is the most important for me and DW.

What do you think?

Thanks in advance for all your help

Nathan

It's hard to answer questions like this for someone else. It's like trying to pick a flavor of Ice Cream for someone else. Having said that, our family would choose the Pool/Lagoon View. We like watching people enjoying themselves at the pool. We have had views of Storm Along Bay before and never thought it was noisy, especially at night. During the day when the Pool Party is going on it is a tad noisy, but during the day we were either AT the pool or the parks. At night, Storm Along Bay is very pretty to look at.

Personally, I prefer the garden view at the BC. The lagoon or water view can face the pool, overlooking this very large ugly section of roof. I really dislike that view and will never pay for it again. I would rather pay for a standard view even and look at the parking lot. That way at least I have saved a few $$$ by looking at a less desirable view. The garden view or woods view has been the category where I have received the nicest views at a somewhat reasonable cost, IMO.

I understand your dilemma, however.
If you believe that you would like the lagoon view or pool view more than the garden view and are happy to have even the pool view in order to get an upper floor and full balcony, than I would book the lagoon view. We have had a pool view and never had a big problem with noise in the evening. I believe that they actually close the pool fairly early so nose won't be an issue at all after something like 10:00 pm.

Bottom line, if I were going, I wouldn't change my view to lagoon. If were you, I might change. I wouldn't let potential noise issues sway my decision.

My fear with multiple requests is that the room assigner would do something like give me a lesser request and I would subsequently miss out on the request that was the most important to me.
BUT ... I have issues with requests. I prefer to book and pay for what I really want. When that isn't possible, I try to find someplace that reduces the number of requests that I need to make to the bare minimum. Too often, people just don't get their requests. Too often, we have been some of those people. We make the best of it and enjoy the trip anyway, but it isn't ideal.

Good luck!

We are here at the Beach Club now and are in a pool lagoon view.We have a view of the quiet pool, and noise level is fine.Never any super late swimmers or early, that's not our issue. The lights around the pool never go off and the new blinds in the room let a lot of light in.We are usually in the villas but if ever in hotel again I would choose courtyard view at hopes there would not be light filling my room.Just my opinion

Thanks in advance

There is a thread on the Resorts Community Subforum with a sample of Beach Club views (and some room descriptions) in the various room categories.

I'll edit it in here:

We stayed at YC Garden view and the view was not that great. If I looked down to the right there was a garden, but it was in the back and in the corner, and if I looked to the left I saw guys emptying trash. However, I had a good balcony.
Have you thought about the YC, for some reason, and someone can correct me if need be, but I think pretty much all the rooms have a balcony making that not an issue. To top it all off, they discount, when there are discounts, 30 percent, while BC only gets 20 percent off. If that was the case, then I may request a certain direction as to minimize bad views, such as facing west, or what have you, after looking at a floor plan.

The problem is, I am trying to stay at every resort once, I have stayed at YC already (actually twice) but have never stayed at BC.
