I'm so excited and just wanted to share. We have just got booked for 6 nights, at BC with free DDP and the $100 gift card. We have visited BC before but have never stayed there, it looks a lovely resort. I did some price checking first and found out that if we stayed from the 16th July it would be £600 dearer than staying from the 18th July. This was because all the standard rooms were booked for the 16th. We are just going to stay on I drive for the first 2 nights and do a spot of shopping before going to Disney first thing on the 18th. We don't fly into to MCO until 6pm on the 16th so its not like we are missing a whole day of Disney magic. Just have to wait patiently till next year now but still lots and lots of planning to be done in the mean time.

I'm soooo jealous!! BC is my favourite resort, I would stay there every time if we could :beach:

We are torn between Yacht Club and AKL for next year - I love the YC location but it's 50% more expensive than AKL! Would you say Yacht/Beach was worth it? It's about £2,600 inc tickets for two people, 8 nights.

(Sorry for the mini hijack!)

I've never stayed at AKL but all I can say is that YC is worth EVERY penny in my honest opinion :goodvibes

I agree 100%
If you can afford it and location and luxury are an important part of your holiday then do it.If you just want a room to sleep then the budget or a moderate are brilliant too.

Who did you book with? Am wanting 7 nights or 10 nights (dependent on flights) staying at YC for April/May time (am thinking half term) :) We weren't sure between YC and AKL but decided it wasn't worth the extra for AKL. Would've loved to have gone at Xmas but advice on here was Xmas is busiest time at Disney so I know my son just wouldn't be able to cope with it so April/May it is! :) Hope you have a FAB hol and enjoy all that planning time in between! :)

Are you looking at Easter (which is late next year) or May half term?

Easter will be busy like Xmas. May half term will also be busy but not as bad as the other times as there is a US bank holiday the last Monday in May.

Hi-oooooh

The Beach Club is a great resort, being within a short walk to Epcot and the Boardwalk also gives you more dinning options. If you find time to relax then Stormalong Bay is a must and if you're still getting use to US time and waking early then Disney offers an early check-in time of 6:00am I believe so head over as early as possible on the 18th, you'll get your room keys/tickets and will then have the option of using the dinning plan for breakfast.

You might also be very, very lucky as there could be a room available, a few years ago we managed to check into a Beach Club room at 8.00am and also had a choice of rooms, but it might be as late as 3.00pm.

Happy planning :surfweb:

Congrats.

I will be there in 11 days!

I hope to get on here and do a trip report while I'm there, just need to find out how to upload photos!

Was thinking around Easter time but wasn't sure when it fell next year. Am not wanting middle of Summer coz think that would be a bit too hot :)

Easter Sunday is 20 April 2014. If you DS doesn't cope with crowds I would avoid Easter and the weeks preceding it as that is US spring break season.

May Half Term may be your best bet depending whether your DSs school will mind him missing school twice in one academic year.

Summer is hot however if you make use of the longer opening hours and visit early then take a break and avoid the mid-day heat it's really not that bad.

Ah ok.. thanks for the advice. I'm only planning on doing Disney parks next time whereas we doing all manner of stuff this trip and staying on site will surely make that getting out of the heat a lot easier. The 30C we had while we been here has been ok but am not sure how it would be if it was much hotter than that. Otherwise, only option is Oct half term. Am sure we can figure something out anyway. This trip has been so much fun with my DS REALLY getting into Autograph collecting and enjoying the different meet and greets :) REALLY got the feeling I may just be back every year while he's as young as he is! :)

foxxxy83 I hope you don't mind but these posts of yours do make me laugh as I remember you posting about 8 weeks ago saying that you never go back to the same place as there is so much in the world you want to see and now you're talking about going back every year :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I guess that Disney magic really got to you pixiedust: and your son

I don't mind you laughing. I don't mind admitting that I was quite ignorant as a first timer and just assumed Disney would be purely Mickey and rollercoasters but now that we're here and I see SO much change in Dylan, I can't help but fall in love with the place. I've spoken to my partner at length about it and we think it would be good if I have a Disney hol with Dylan each year to get that quality bonding time and we'll have an extra hol together as a family so we can see new places as well :) But yes, we have both completely fallen in love with Disney and can't think of a more perfect place to spend quality bonding time together. THANKS WALT!! :) ;)

You've found that Disney magic then! We also see the change in our DD after every trip - it is an amazing place :)

Very few people visit only once :goodvibes

Yep, sure have. Just looking forward to trying out all the different resorts now! :) First one will be YC as that looks FAB! :)

Hi guys, thanks for the advice samaya about the early check in, I didn't realise you could do that. We will be flying in from LA on the 16th so hopefully wont struggle too much with the time difference. Any excuse to get to the magic early though, I really like the idea of using the DDP for breakfast, I may book Crystal Palace and that will be a great start to our stay.

Foxxxy83, We booked direct with Disney. There will be four of us DH, DD21, DS16 and myself. We needed somewhere that would give separate beds for DD and DS, I didn't realise it would be so difficult to find somewhere. We looked into OKW but they had sold out, SS we would have to get a 2 bed villa and that bumped the price up. We checked out mod resorts but taking into account the price of 2 rooms and counter service DDP and also value resorts with no DDP, the BC seemed the best option.
We paid £2780, this doesn't include any flights as already mentioned we will be flying in from LA. To be honest, since we visited BC I always said I would like to stay there and if we had booked anywhere else I think I would have felt it was a compromise.

Just a thank you to those who answered my question too - we have settled on YC with free dining, woop!

Just to say we've just returned from the yacht club and LOVED it. Best hotel I've ever stayed in. Customer service was incredible. Everyone was so polite. You'll have an amazing time.
